The attached photo shows the location of what sounds like a vacuum leak.
The metal tubing is inserted into a rubber hose.
Is this a problem ?

The rubber piece fits 2 hoses. I replaced mine with 2 separate hoses and haven't had a problem since.:thumbsup:

I think one of the hose is PCV return into the plenum.
Not knowing exactly which one is leaking (there are two) and how severe the leak is, it's tough to assess it's effect on performance.
One thing I do know is that LT5 is very sensitive to vacuum loss especially for 2ndary actuation.
If it was mine I would pull the plenum and replace the piece and check all vacuum lines, check 2ndary actuation, tighten up bolts around breather box (?) and button back up.

This is a very good detailed article and kudos to Rob over at CAC for making it up for all to see when one is chasing down a vacuum leak.
