Hi guys,
i have a question for you.
I have see this website: http://www.shox.com/
They sale a set of Bilstein selective ride adjustable (the name of the kit for my 1990 Z is: 0113. Bilstein Sport shocks) at $734.00.
It's a great price, other website sale the same product at $200.00 each!!
There are other brand who sale adjustable shock for Fx3?
Someone has already buy from this site? The products are good?
They ask me only $99.00 for DHL shipping
Thanks in advance

AAA Automotive sells the two front Bilstein FX shocks for $149.00 for the pair and about $15 for delivery. They are located in Howe TX and if you go to fleabay and search Bilstein Shocks you will see their listing. Their real...several of us got them and they are the real deal and work great. Unfortunately, they do not have the rear shocks so you could buy them (I have seen for $179 each) separately and you would be looking at total of about $535 (buying fronts from AAA Automotive the rears elsewhere and throwing a few bucks in for delivery.
Edit... sorry max... forgot you are in Italy.. this option might not work

Yes zr1vette, i'm Italian...the shipping costs affect a lot the total price...AAA is cheaper than others, but if i pay 2 shipping i lose all the saving:mad:
The only important things is that they sale good item....not rebuilt or used...i want spent only one time!!
Thanks

I am sure you request correct model year. I think there are 90-91 and 92-95 versions - difference in amount of rotation, I think.

Guys,
when i'll put the new shocks on my Z the chip find the right position automatically or there's someone procedure to instal them and the relative actuator?
I see a picture online of a new shock fx3, it's sale without the upper gear?(where you put the actuator)
It's right that?I must use the old gear?
Here there is a picture set

Hi Max.
The answer to your first question about "locating the gears with each other" is that the control box for the system will do the looking for the position automatically. It is the same procedure that is done every time we turn the ignition to the "ON" position. You do not have to be concerned with the position of the shock gear or the gear on the actuator.
When you install the actuator to the shock you just have to be aware that the actuator should go on the shock gear with no effort at all and the retainer spring clip will fit also with no effort at all. If this does not happen, stop and recheck that the shock gear has the required 5mm spacing that needs to be kept when you reassemble the top bushing + washer + top shock nut.
If you need this procedure I can e-mail you the info from my 90's service manual. It is very important that when all the parts are assembled at the top of the shock that the top of the shock gear is no more than 5mm above the top lip of the cup that the actuator sits in.
The second question about the gear on the top of the shock rod, yes that gear is supposed to come with the new shock.

Thank you so much;)

Also, check with sock vender if new shocks come with rubber grommets, upper and lower.
If not you can find them at Corvette Central (I know they carry rear upper for sure, I just ordered a set - polyurethane version).

Hi Max, I will get to work on the e-mail after work tonight, sorry but I can't type fast enough to get it done during lunch.:o
Oh yes the new shocks will not come with new rubber isolation bushings. The kit from most places like shox.com and eshocks.com will come with a new washer + new top nut + new sleeve for the upper bushings. You must save the old bushings for reuse. Do NOT throw away the old bushings. They are not included with the new shocks.
I think I covered all the bases for now, Daryl check me on this please as I'm senile I think!:sign10::redface:

The gold mounting cup for the actuator will be reused on the new shocks. There is also a washer that holds the cup in position that will be reused as well.
Do not reuse the bushings. You are trying to eliminate any suspension slop, and the old bushings are a band aid.

Max, I just sent you an e-mail. Sorry it took till this morning! I had a union meeting last night and it ran longer than I thought it would as it's contract time in 16 months so we had a big agenda.
I am working on my scanner so that I hope to get it to work with my new PC so that I can actually e-mail you the pages from the Helm FSM. I would warn that I'm not very good with software and I may have some troubles. I hope not but I'm not too smart when it comes to this stuff.
