In keeping with the theme of this year's ZR-1 Gathering at the National Corvette Museum in Bowling Green Kentucky, I plan to make a "Milestone Event".
My 1993, Quasar Blue ZR-1 went over 99,000 miles this morning.
I am going to conserve my miles for the next 13 days and then drive to Bowling Green and then to the drag strip at Beech Bend on Thursday 14 May.
I will attempt to have the odometer turn over 100,000 miles in the quarter mile.
I invite all ZR-1 owners to join me for this milestone, and I challenge any other 100K mile ZR-1 to a drag race.

I don't know, YET!
See you at the track.
If I get to 99,999 before I get to Beech Bend, I may have to call a roll-back to complete the trip.

Mine just rolled over 100,000 last time I drove it. I think the CCM is the only thing that is that old! :jawdrop:

Anyone else near 100,000 miles?

Two days to go until departure and I have 19 miles margin for a 763 mile trip. We are stopping on a farm in Ohio to pick up a Yellow ZR-1 on the way down to BG. If we don't get lost, we should make it to Beech Bend really close to 99,999. :dancing

Just returned from BG. Made the trip home in just under seven hours! As for the milestone, I turned 100,000 miles, twenty miles before the museum's exit on Wednesday afternoon. The car ran very well on the trip and during the entire weekend! I even won the autocross event!!!!
I just have to say it was a pleasure meeting the "Brothers of the Beast" in person and the fellas from the east coast, Maryland and Virginia, are awesome. Thanks for the beer, food and fun. And the brother from the west, "JeffVette", truly inspirational.
I hope to see all of you next year, if not before. Stay safe and healthy!

I was successful at hitting the 100,000 mile mark at the finish line of my second run at the drag strip.

That is very cool, and an example I'm going to use when someone asks about the "ruggedness" of the LT5.
ps Did you beat the GS? ;)

I agree about the ruggedness. I get lots of questions at car shows about drag racing a high miles ZR-1. It impresses people that a basically stock (headers and Corsa) ZR-1 can run so well in the quarter mile. I am sure that the 100K miles at the finish line will make the point even better
Yes, I won, but that GS is modified and is pretty quick.

100k mile run was 12.826 at 108.2 mph. The next run I did a 12.762. My 60' times improved a lot from last year but my trap speeds dropped. Guess I need a tune up.

I think you need to remove the dynomat and cage! My guess is your car is a lot heavier than it was from the factory. With headers and a cat-back on a 405hp car, I would expect you to trap a lot higher than that. It would be interesting to see where it dynos at, and tips the scales at.
Also, congrats on the milestone!

I hear you, Bob. I am not sure that I am ready to start stripping weight off the car yet. I would have to get a whole lot more serious about drag racing before I do that. I did run with a nearly empty gas tank. I wasn't paying attention during the runs and when I left Beech Bend, I had one bar on the gas gauge.

I was so pumped about the 100,000 mile thing that I wasn't paying attention to the gas gauge. I made two more runs after that picture. I had one bar showing when I left Beech Bend to go back to the NCM. Luckily I made it OK.
Thanks for the pictures Keith.

Hey Jim, that's a pretty picture! =D>
Well now ya know I think I like the gauges & their markings better than in my 90. At least they have some demarcation lines besides stone cold and waaaay toooo hooootttt!:sign10:
