Going to fire up the 92, whats the best way to do this after sittting.

I was going to pull the Fuel injector and pump fuses and turn it over a few times....then fire it up.

Proly the way to go and built up a bit of OIL PSI.

After a long sit the cams will be dry and it it a noisy affair until the PSI builds up and lubes them. Be ready to hear a lot for abt 10-15 seconds.

I let mine go for 60+ days the first year and could no believe how noisy the cams were upon start up.

Now I start every 30 no more than 45 days as to avoid this condition.

Congrats on making the 1000+ post club! I see -Jeff- is close too!

Speaking of the noisy cams, I notice that I get that sometimes after the car has sat for several days without use. Could this be normal, or is something beginning to fail?

After the engine fires, it goes away quickly. Oil pressue is always very good.

Well mine sat for 8 weeks while waiting for parts to come in. It fired right up and had the usual 1 1/2 sec of cam chain rattle which is totally normal. That's all it is.

If you crank it until you see oil pressure, it'll probably take 15 seconds or more. Most vehicles' owners manuals caution against extended cranking times because starter motors are not designed for continuous duty. So spin it over for 10 seconds, wait a minute, and repeat until you see pressure.

FWIW, I just crank it up - there's plenty of oil in the bearings anyhow, and LT5s seem to be able to take plenty of abuse even though the oil pressure builds up slowly because the filter has to fill first.

Seems backwards I would think FP1 would shut down primary injectors:dontknow:

FP2 is enabled at start up, and shuts off once car enters closed loop. There are fuses for finj1 and finj2.
