I notice that Ferrari always works in special badges on their cars for manufacturers championships, etc. Our cars breaks a 50 year old record and we get a damn sticker.
So I thought what if we had one, not that we need to whore up the car with badges and bling. But here is my interpretation, three rings would be in color and script would be on a small chrome tab.

Nice take on the subject Lee!
I kind of like the T/B idea except the design may become too compressed, or too small to read? JMHO.
I'll bet that would cost a small fortune to make in metal. Also, where would you put it on the car? Other side of the rear bumper from the ZR-1 badge?
On another note. Anyone with a 91, where was the decal placed?

Excellent thought! I like it a lot - especially as a TB insert. Very good idea, Lee!

-Decal is on the hatch glass
-I could get this tooled in metal for about $100...not sure if I can get it done on the TB. I am going to see what a repo TB cover is from our friend Mr. Carter and then see if my overseas friends could stamp in the design.
-I agree there are not many places to put this

Attach it to the throttle body insert but make it bigger. So it sits on top and overlaps onto the throttle body. Either cast as one piece or to be screwed on to the throttle body insert that Carter makes.

Great idea! Either an emblem or a decal or both would be fantastic! I played around a little with your image and came up with this. I added to the record dates and a larger font.

Yes I have messed with the fonts also to make it look better. Once I ge the cam emblem deal done will check interest on producing these. Also have a few other ideas.
Do you think the Lotus Emblem needs to be worked...or too much?

Looks great but there might be some copyright issues - GM is pretty fussy about using their logos; don't know about the FIA.
Does anybody need location measurements for the record run hatch decal on the 91s?

Great idea, looks real good. Just a suggestion make a sticker and put it in the window like the 91s have. I have a 91 so I would put it on the other side. The people who have all other years with out them could put them on the driver side.

Unfortunatly, I can't imagine the FIA being happy about their logo being used without some cash going the other way...not that i'm going to say anything :eusa_shhh

Agreed... I think this would be pricey, though with such a small market for demand, it might be able to be kept quiet.

I just thought of an idea that kicks the sh** out of this one. Will design it and let everyone see it.....I think it will be classy, display some of the heritage....yet very subtle.
More to come...

Could go with either here: MAP cover is the thought.
Silver Chrome with black crinkle/textured insert.
Obviously it would look cleaner, Lettering tighter in the provisions...but another thought:

I know it should read 370ftlbs but I was in a hurry and typo'd

This will only be an issue if they are sold for profit...for "our" personal use, I doubt anyone would bother with us.

Hello from Switzerland,
The idea to create a 24 hr endurance badge would be absolutely perfect.
Everybody should know what a ZR-1 is able to do. But not in this form.
I would not like to have the FIA sign on my car. I think I would always
see the the face of Max Mosley, the president of these bandits.
The FIA did absolutely nothing for this run. They only supervised it and
were sad about it that the ZR-1 was not a Ferrari. I mentioned it once before:
FIA means Ferrari's Interest Agency!
Have a fine day and go on to create a fine badge, without FIA.

Just a suggestion but, I think it would work well on the ashtray door. It would be something different then the engine specs badge. Or on radiator housing. I put an engine specs decal there as seen in this photo, but a 24hr badge would look really good.
