I have a pair of Rear OEM A-Mold wheels, refinished by a professional wheel refinisher in the OEM painted finish. These are the deep-lug OEM wheels, not an aftermarket. There is a GM part number on the spokes. No center caps or lugs included.

36mm ZR-1 offset, not the GS offset!

I thought the AFS stamp meant they were aftermarket?

Not trying to highjack, but maybe I have GM AMolds also?

Nope Lee those are the real deal and the AFS and JWL markings on the back and the front of the wheel seal the argument. Those are 100% OEM GM A Molds made in Japan.

AFS broke away from the Japanese MFGs and did some non JWL stampings but those too are considered A-Molds. They truely did not become aftermarket until these starting coming out of China, Design changed squaring off the spokes as well. GC

Looks like I might have all the 17X9.5 Gen Is sold, which will open the door for buying a set w/17X11s. I cannot unload the 17X11 I have for the life of me.

Maybe I can unload my amolds too once I get the new set of Dymags!

But the ones listed here are a steal!

If you guys don't mind I'm going to side-track this thread with a rather stupid question...

Why are they called A-Molds? I have always been curious but never curious enough to ask.

No idea of the back story on the name. Good question

Found this link to an article about "A-Mold Corporation" a couple of weeks when looking for info related to the powder coating process.
Coincidence?

Thanks, folks... I listed em $50 cheaper here than on the 'other' forum, want to help my bros out :)

I would like to add that I popped an aftermarket center cap into one of the front wheels I have from the same refinisher, and the color is correct but the metallic sheen is a little different -- I can't say if this is a difference in the center cap or the wheel, just wanted to give a heads up. Again, the center caps are aftermarket.

This is a front wheel (and that wrinkly look in the lug well is an illusion, in case anyone wonders about the quality ;) )

I agree with the gold one. I bought two rears three months ago and paid $855 shipped and they were not redone or near as nice. I would have bought these in a flash.
