Does anyone know what the plug gap for the LT5 is? and also does anyone know if there is an adaptor I can buy to fit a chevy big block to the ZR1 tranny? I have a complete ZR1 clutch and all it needs a motor and I have a 502 I wanted to put in it?

Sorry 35 is correct but I always ran mine at 50 for a little extra boost. :-) You can set them anyway from 035 to 050.

Does anyone know the implications of gapping spark plugs at .050 as opposed to .035. All the books I have read say .035. What does gapping at .050 give you and at what cost. It has been alluded that in order to do this the ignition coils must be able to support a spark at a higher voltage. Does anyone know what voltage the coils actually sustain. Example: the C5 coils support up to 50K volts per cylinder. (A friend has his class III modified C5, 475/420 HP, running .080 gap) I cannot find what the LT5 supports.
Please explain at your earliest convenience as I have a race on Friday.

I asked Marc Haibeck about plug gap a few months ago. He told me 35 to 60. He said the larger gap was used by dealers in service bulletins on the later cars. He also said the larger gap would help smooth out the idle . It is just preference. I set mine at 45, car seems to run just fine.

.035 for the early cars, .050 for the later cars.
