Selling one of two LPE Aerobody kits purchased back in the day. Prefer to see it go to a Registry member before listing on eBay, other forums, etc. The kit is still in the bubble wrap as received from LPE. Price is $4500 plus shipping/crating (if needed)/PayPal fees (if used). Located 1 hour west of DC, near Manassas, VA.

Prefer local pick-up or local delivery but will ship if no local buyers. May be able to deliver along I-81, I-40 between DC and Knoxville, TN for the cost of fuel. Other destinations possible...

While I'm not planning on attending BG, might be able to deliver to BG for cost of fuel.

Glad to see a long time registered forum member finally posting. :handshak:

It might be a good idea to post a few pictures of what an LPE aerobody looks like in your thread. Someone unfamiliar with them might fall in love and buy it.

Yeah, I've been quite the lurker.

A26B on this site has the same kit installed on one of his cars. Think he has it showcased in the "Members Rides" area.

Somewhere on my computer have a promotional pic lifted from the old LPE site. Will post that once located.

Next pretty day I have free, will take some pics of the kit.

Couple of pics stolen from A26B's thread:

The LPE Aerobody kit does not include the hood. It is front and rear, rockers, rear portion of front fenders.

Looks like A26B may have a Toledo 2" hood.

I have a Toledo 2" hood I may sell...haven't decided.

I'm anticipating a change of residence so trying to lighten the moving load.

The kit is priced at what I have in it...at year 2001 money.

Neat! I don't have that kind of money to spend on body work, but I was curious. On the rear it almost looks like the bottom of the bumper is an insert. Is it "configurable" for a traditional exit exhaust system? Or do you need to go to a center exit?

I really like the side and rear of that body kit but I dont care for the nose. I wonder how it would look with the stock nose piece.

I would like the nose better if it had any functionality to it...... but it doesn't. In fact, I think it's a detriment to clean aerodynamics and high speed stability. At 170+, the nose gets light, not a good thing. I think my experience is borne out by John Lingenfelter's 95 that made the 225mph run. All he used was the rear end with the enhanced spoiler for additional downforce. Even that is suspect if the following chart is correct.

I like the sides & rear the best. The nose looks European if you like that sort of thing.

If I make another mile event, my car will have the stock nose (or something like it). I have a spare LPE Aerobody & I'm toying with the notion of closing in the nose opening entirely with the result being cleaner aerodynamics, something along the lines of CanAm shape with a splitter if cooling air flow is maintained . Wonder what a Callaway nose performs like & how it would look with the LPE Aerobody?

I agree the rear and sides are killer. I didnt think much of the nose as well.

Well we do know that the Callaway AeroBody went 254 and change(Sledgehammer) :dancing

My car went 142 in the quarter on the juice but had to shift to 5th right before the lights. That much power and the 4.10's I have don't really mix for a one mile run.

Would like to take my beast through the mile, but I would have to make a gear change.

And no, Jerry, you can't borrow my Callaway nose.

Seeing Jerry's car at the 2003 Gathering is the reason I have the AeroBody on my car. I do like Jerry's a lot, but the front of a Callaway is too cool:cool:

Somebody buy John's LPE Aerobody before I do something crazy...... Like putting one on the 168 mile Ruby, along with a Raptor TT setup.

Then it would be:
1993 40th Anniv ZR-1 LPE Aerobody Raptor TT. What a mouthful!

Come on Charlie! You've been wanting one for a long time. Here's your chance, Step up!

I like the front and rear vents.

Not crazy about the rear and definitely dislike the front.

I'm probably in the minority :dontknow:

Yeah, it's a bit "much" considering the normally reserved style of the C4, IMHO. But it'll turn heads! :-D
