Looking to buy a Haibeck chip now that I have added a set of Jeals to my 91. I have DRM chip now with the fans on early, Power key on options. It will only cost me about $50 to have DRM retune the chip for the headers mod but does anyone have a MH chip laying around for a 91 so I can compare the two in a few runs? Id buy one new but holly crap its a lot of bucks to add back on what I already have plus a new Bin file for the headers.

I know you Chicago Mafia Pizza boys love his tunes but I want to really compare. Dom can you help me out here? I know you like to tweek the bin files. GC

GC,

There is one on eBay for $180. Its for a 94, but we could easily transfer the VE and SA stuff over to a 91 Mask. I have some other bins for DRM and a supposedly Corey Henderson calibration for a 90 (which said Haibeck on it) but haven't scored a Haibeck one yet. With an adapter, you could run one, then pull adapter and run the original. Let me know how I can help.

Awesome Dom so is the best way to go after the 94 chip and have you reburn it or?

Right now I have the following on the DRM chip
Early Fans
Gags Delete
Power key aways on

I can get the DRM chip done but eveybody here swears the MH chip is better wtg. Any real world stories out there? GC

I had DRM chip in my 91 and replaced with MH chip, car runs much better, both fans come on at the same time witch cools off quicker and does not draw as much dirt and debris in the one side of radiator. Anti backfire mode is nice also.

GC,

I've looked at the DRM chip that Lgaff had in his. The WOT timing was very abrupt. The LT5 seems prone to knock in the 4-5500rpm range, so
DRM keeps timing low (about 22*) and then immediately ramps it up to 28* after that point. That way they avoid the Knock Retard. I had an MR
chip in mine originally and when I went to headers, car didn't run any faster than with stock exhaust. I discovered the KR backed timing off. By tuning it yourself, you can come up with a better slope for the timing maximizing power and avoiding the ECM throttling back the timing because of knock.
If you get the Haibeck, we can just copy the Fuel and Spark Tables onto the DRM calibration you have now leaving everything else the way it is. I think MH also softens the Knock Retard too. Stock its something like 10* and Marc told me that was GM being cautious in case somebody used 87 octane instead of 93.

So Dom you would need both the DRM chip and the Haibeck 94 chip and can make all this happen on the Haibeck chip?

Funny you mentioned the 4k rpms as mine tends to bog as the af mixture goes wild (more fuel than air). PM me your email address Dom I can share some dyno numbers before and after the top end porting. Thanks D

Dominicthat is a corey henderson tune that i gave you .he retuned marks prom when he tuned my car after he ported the inj housings and plenum . that tune on my 90 made 409.9 rwhp with flowmaster exhaust and jeal headers, along with the porting . if anyone would like to see the dyno sheet ,just give me a fax number and i would be glad to send anyone a copy .

Holly crap 409 to the rear?yes sir 409.9 to be exact. that was with the flowmaster exhaust . the car trapped 118 with that setup. with the custom spin tech exhaust the trap speed went to 119.85 to 120.66. there are vids on u tube of the 119.85 . you will love the way she pulls with headers . you just have to watch for the man as you will have a tendancy to want to floor her alot

I had a DRM chip and now I have a SGC/Haibeck chip.

If you went to Haibeck, I bet he would do whatever you needed for a nominal fee. You definitely need the anti-backfire mode which is $99. My car rips with this chip.

Hey Dom, I have a spare Haibeck chip for my 90 if you want to experiment. Might be interseting to get the best of Haibeck and Henderson or at least see the difference.

Sorry GC.

But with all of that extra air now flowing into my Beast...., a Pirate (JVD) sort of added a little fuel & timing to mine! http://i39.tinypic.com/2vj4eph.gif
