At several gatherings of the ZR brotherhood we always find little variances in our cars....well here is one that has garnered interest. The door guide pin/guide pin receiver that is on the MY90 ZR at some point was not installed in later MY's...do you have?

:o I thought that was the door handle for those of us that don't want to touch the paint when closing the door....it works well.

The guide pin was on the verts to help with flexing with the doors and was on the ZR-1 I assume for the additional hp.

My 91 also has the guide pin and locator. Did the General stop using them in later models?

Yep, can't remember if 92 was the last year. I know they are not in the 93 cars.

I use the flat-black exterior handle to push on. I think I'd probably close my hand in the door if I tried to use that guide and wasn't paying attention!

Another running change happened sometime in early 91,the door trim had 7 threaded studs and sometime in 91 it was changed to 2 studs, one on each end and 5 clips.I found this out when I pulled the trim off to repaint it,only to destroy one piece of trim trying to get it off.
