Hi y'all
My first ZR1netregistry post/question! I hope it works as well as the old ZR1 net email posts. Well, here we go..........
I have a 95 ZR1 (Duh). I removed the passenger side front shock actuator
and found that the spline gear on top of the shock shaft (they call it a selector gear in the manual) was broken into pieces. It looked like it was made of ceramic or hard plastic. It is the piece that fits up into the actuator. Can it be replaced? I can't find a part # in my manual or parts list. Someone said to try and glue the pieces back together, but I didn't save all the pieces. Service light is on and its driving me crazy.
Any suggestions? TIA

Hello I just had the same problem last week, the gear cannot be replaced as far as I know. I had tried to locate a part number from bilstein I was told to send to complete shock back for rebuild cost plus shipping >$200. I purchased a new shock & actuator from SHOX.com $200 shoch & 300 actuator. The dealer wanted >$1000

The spline gear on my shock shaft is aluminum. I dont see it as a repairable part. I dont know of a source for that part only, but would start by calling Bilstein directly. Do some persuasive speaking to get them to sell. If they wont sell the parts as noted wikdzr1, you can try to buy a worn used shock from someone for a decent price.

Anyone know if this spline gear is the same for all (90-95) ZR1 years?
