I've been thinking of adding a wing to the Z. Not radical but one that catches your eye. I tried ACI Vettes but their mold must of been destroyed in the fire they had. They can't find the mold now. It appears that Corvette Central, Mid-America, etc. use ACI as a supplier of their wings. Did a web search but didn't come up with too much. Any help out there????? Anyone have one that they might want to sell???? Thanks............

do you really want to drill into the rear deck lid of your car?

The car has 49th St skirts and I thought that the wing would be a nice addition. You are only talking four holes to cut in. Low profile wing... nothing radical.
I don't know where you can get one. Let me ask you this: Are you ever planning to sell it someday?

Not in the very near future. My only reason not to keep her is if I found another Z that was newer and a good price. I know that the ZR1 guys are pretty fanatical about their cars but look at all of the motors that have been upgraded to the big HP ratings. Plus the fact that most of those people also race their cars with all sorts of add ons. When I was at the Gathering in May there were a couple of cars with all sorts of ground effect packages. Some were too much for me. The wing is not cast in stone so maybe you guys can change my mind.....

The callaway/shindoa/lpe kits are hit and miss with people. But I do love the 49th front splitter/side skirts

Now picture the skirts with a wing on back........

The wing kills it for me, sorry. I'm not a wing fan on vettes.

I've seen some vettes with wings, and well, I'm not a fan. Some don't look too bad, I admit, but overall, not for me.
I don't know what the 49th Street skirts look like, but if they are anything like the Greenwood package, again, I'll pass. To me those add-ons are great if the car is used for racing and it's part of the whole downforce package. But adding those to street cars just reminds me of the Nascar fanatics out there that paint their street car to look like their favorite driver's car. There is something about a Dupont Geo Metro that just isn't right.
Just my .02 though. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder.
Good luck in the decision and post some pics after all a vette is a vette!

Why not look for something that you can change the rear bummper cover to with a molded type flair..at least you could go back stock if you wanted.

I have a mold for one that I made that looks like a exaggerated callaway type spoiler. It looks great but it will require a lot of work to make it perfect but from what I understand all fiberglass needs a lot of work. For $300 Ill make one. Is that fair for the material, my time and my itchy hands?

Could you e-mail pics of what type/style of wing??? Thanks

I honestly wish I could but I could but I lost my digicam and I dont have one made. I tried to make it look as much like a callaway if the callaway rear spoiler were add on. Think of it kind of like the bolt on rear spoiler on the 2nd gen trans ams only fitting smoothly into a c4 rear clip. Tell you what 175 Ill make one and send it to you cod for shipping ( iff there is any diff you send it to me Ill show you all recipts) if you will post pics of it before and after install. I promise you will like it IF YOU LIKE THE CALLAWAY

Do you mean that huge Callaway LeMans spoiler? Otherwise, on the aerobody it was just a ducktail type spoiler but integrated, a raised edge on the back. Sort of like the ZR-1 already has, but slightly more pronounced.
Do you have picts of the Callaway spoiler you mean?

I am talking about the callaway aerobody ducktail type spoiler. I mada it taller and it follows the curve of the rear of the bumper cover. No I cant send a pic cuz I dont have a digicam, I lost it. Ill make it it anyone wants one Ill make it, all I want is the price it will cost me, it looks lots better than a wing.

Do you replace the bumper cover with yours, or add onto it?

I made it to bond onto a fiberglass bumper that I bought from the vette specialist in california,That guy that made that purple c41/2 or something like that it was a c4 with c5ish body panels. It was in one of the vette mags. I dont know where you could get a glass rear clip now. I think it wouldnt be hard to make it bolt on. where can you get something like that for the price of the materials anyway

I can't speak for Aurora40 but I'm not looking for that style of wing. I don't think that type could be bolted on....more like form into the rear panel. thanks for the info.......
