I recently purchased a 1990 ZR-1 which came with a whole box of history. Within the box was a window sticker for the car with 4 signitures. Two I know, Dave McLellan and Zora Duntov but the other two I don't know. Can I get some Corvette guru's to help me out?
Thanks much

Long before I owned it, Dave McLellan signed the plenum of my 95 ZR-1 on the same date. He was in Carlisle, PA that day.

I had Dave McLellan sign a few books and ZR-1 poster. He is a super nice guy. I could have had him sign my plenum on 2 occasions but decided I'd rather not have have a signature on it.

Hello and welcome to the forum. :handshak:
I noticed your vin# is blacked out. Did you do that for the purposes of anonymity, or is it like that on the sticker?

I'm having the car Bloomington Gold certified this June. It will be interesting to see if they deduct points (not that I care) for his signature.
If your car is super original, I can see your point in not having it signed. I think it's kind of neat though, especially with the date. It's like the original and continuation Cobras that are signed by Carroll Shelby. Some day soon, this will be impossible.

Yep...you will get a bit off in points but if it were me... so what... that signature makes your car special within a class of special cars.

Thanks Jeff... of course Harlen Charles but doesn't Claudio time a GM sorta post date the development of the ZR-1/LT5?
Also Jeff... would you know a way to contact Bill Kepple of MerCruiser at the time of the LT5 program...I have heard he occassionally appears at ZR-1 events???

Claudio does, as well as Tom Wallace.
I'll ask around on Bill.

Yeah I blacked it out. Kind of petty I know, who's going to do something with my VIN. I guess in these days of keeping all your personal #'s private, I got carried away. Sorry

No need to apologize, I was just curious. As you may know the registry keeps owner info which helps to keep a database of the ZR-1's that are still in circulation. You add as much or as little information as you want. No one needs to know your address or full name or anything like that. It just asks for some basic info.
It is useful in creating a demographic of where the different cars are located, color combos, top options, etc. The more people that add the basic information, the more complete the statistics are.

I kind if figured that, I have joined the registry and provided my VIN to them for their database. The car does have a bit of history and I'm still going through the box of documentation I received with the car.

Last one is Doug Rippie, Corvetter racer and started Rippie Motorsports.
I think the first one is Jack Underwood of GM power train. Don't recognize the second one

I think it's cool, just not sure how it will do overtime with the heat of the LT-5 Engine. I doubt you would get deductions.

Scrrem,
Welcome to the ZR-1 Net Registry and the NetRegistry Forum. It sounds like you have a great ZR-1.
There is a group of Maryland and Northern Virginia ZR-1 owners that are very active with our cars. We have had several successful get togethers and there is a wealth of technical information available very close to you. Ckeck out the Southeast Region section of the Forum and if you would like to be included on our email list, PM me or email me at:
