Best tool for changing trans fluid/Gear

Just changed the trans fluid in the 90, turned into a pain the ***, I have one of those $5 attachments that look like it belongs on one of those 5 gallon jugs of hair conditioner, and they slapped a plastic tube on it to make it work. Needless to say, I put the car on stands, drained it..went and got the pump and the plastic line was rock hard and no longer flexible(The terms "pump", "rock hard", and "drained it" probably shouldn't be used in the same sentence). I made it work but what a pain....any better products out there that are easier to use?

Most of those cheapy plastic ones barely work... not sure which one you used but Penzoil makes a decent on that attached directly to the fluid container (thus less ways to spill)

You can get an upgrade pump for about $15 from Advance Auto...nicer unit but does not attach (screw onto) the fluid container directly...uses a plastic line for that>>

I cheat... take to my son's shop and he has a BG vacuum sucker and pump unit...works great on things like changing out the diff fluid etc

it runs on compressed air.. I was going to get a couple more but they got thrown out before i got to them.. it took 5 min to fill the trans.. I need to make a better attachment for filling and then it will take 2min..

I use the red one pictured, it works but if you are not careful it will leak a bit at the pump ends if you are pumping too fast.....also the hose is not suited to being easy to get in the gear case. I found a vacuum hose that would fit inside the supplied larger hose without leaking. I use about a 12" lenght of that diameter, 5/16" dia (?) not sure really on the number. Anyway, about a foot's worth and it fits in the fill hole and lets you manouver it around the ring & past the side bering saddles so you get a more complete removal, oh yea, I cut the end at a 45* so I get it flatter.....ain't got no air in the garage space...:(...no light either...:sign10:

To fill both the trans & the gear ..... now don't laugh too hard. I bought one of those pump oil cans and cut the nozzel end off and it works fairly well...that is if you don't have air & electric. Don't get me wrong, it isn't doing the fill quickly, but you have no mess on the ground to clean up either.

To fill the trans and diff, I just use a length of plastic hose about 3' long. I run it out to the side of the car, put a funnel in it, and pour the fluid in.
