As my user name implies, I am into Boss Mustangs now but use to have an Elkheart Green/Saddle Leather '72 ZR1 back in the early eighties. Not knowing where else to look thought I would make a post here to see if all ZR1's were registered here or is this site exclusive to only the 90-95 model cars. Any advice on where to look would be appreciated.

Hello and welcome to the forum.:handshak:
While you will see us discuss our distant cousins from 70-72 and the new addition to the family 09's, we are primarily focused on our 90-95's. You might actually find a current thread interesting on the first ZR-1's ;
http://zr1netregistry.com/forum/showthread.php?t=7681
There is also a nice poster the for sale on the Registry website that has all three generations of ZR-1's

I think once you get more familiar with the 90-95 KOTH you will also become a fan, so feel free to ask questions and participate in the forum discussions.

You might check with NCRS, http://www.ncrs.org/ At one time there was a sub group of members that owned the 70-72 LT-1s. I remember I would get calls from members wanting info, pics etc of my '70 roadster. Think I met the owners of almost every LT-1 in Southern California at NCRS judging events. Bill

PS: your Boss Mustang is also a great car...only one thing would make it better: put a BOWTIE on it :razz:

Thanks for the hospitalty and info. I am already a big fan of the 90-95 ZR cars and hope to own a Polo Green/Tan ZR someday like the base '93 I had in the late 90's. I can't believe how reasonably priced they are now. I believe you guys are sitting on 100K+ cars someday. Wish I still had my 72 ZR but thought maybe the current owner would like some vintage pictures and appreciate the leads.
I currently have a 1970 Boss 302 and 1970 428 Cobra Jet Mustang but sure am tempted to add a Vette to the mix. Thanks

My two all-time favorite Mustangs. The 1970 body is cleaner than the 69 that had all of the fake scoops and such, and the 71 took the Mustang in the wrong (bigger) direction.
The engines require no comments other than - - - :thumbsup:
Based on these two muscle cars, you'd feel right at home with a ZR-1 in the mix.

Thanks for the comments DMark. They are my sentiments exactly. I never cared for the four headlights either on the 69's.
Like most guys, my dream car was always a Vette and I very nearly ended up with a 69 L89 off the used car lot instead of the Boss 302 but the Vette allegedly had electrical problems and couldn't convince Dad to go there. This was in 1971 when I was 17. At the time I didn't even know what an L89 was just thought those three dueces would be cool.
Welcome....post up a few pictures of the Mustangs :thumbsup:

I agree!!
Of all of the engines made by Ford, my two favorites are the Boss 429 and the 427 SOHC "Cammer".

A few yers ago I was putting a 4-speed in my Nova and had a friend that had just done this so I stopped by his shop to get some pictures before I cut the floor in the car.He was keeping the car in a friends shop so I had to go see this guy to get the pictures.The guy that owned the shop was a total Ford guy,I walk in and there are maybe 10 Ford Woodies parked against one wall,very nice.I get my pictures and start looking at the cars.Back behind one wall I could see the front bumper of a Mustang so I go take a look,I almost fell over.Im not into Fords,cant stand 90% of the Mustangs I see but the the Boss cars,and yes even the 71 and anything Shelby are magic.I took a few pictures of the modified shock towers in this car but cant find them now.http://i10.photobucket.com/albums/a136/FLYTYM/ChevyIII141.jpg
