Man that's cold! At 5:30 AM it was 16* here in sunny southern NYS & were gonna have a hi of 26*.
I was gonna do some midnite auto work on my Z last night, but the garage was like a freezer & my Z said... [-X "I'll make you really, really sorry if you take the cover off of me punk. Now go away & leave me alone!"
Guess I'll go & try to diagnoise my sister's cooling system issue on her 323.
God I hate BMW's!

I'm trying to stick to the 'Canadian theme' in this section, Zed's vs. Zee's . I've got a couple customers bugging me to go with them to the Phoenix NHRA National event and/or the Division race at Firebird the following week. roughly a month from right now. i want to go to a place called Greasewood flats, if i go...supposed to be pretty cool i hear.

It doesen't look like things are going to warm up until late in the week at least. I was in the Arctic two weeks ago (-55C with wind chill - ouch)!
I am very thankful for my heated garage. I just completed the conversion to ceramic brakes (did the rears today and fronts last week), and I'm counting down the weeks to spring.

+8 C today in Southwestern Ont. Smells like spring. It was actually nice enough to open the garage and do my biweekly start-up in the driveway today.
I also used the low-profile "Race Ramps" for the first time today (change out the 2008 AMSOIL for a fresh batch), and I am impressed with these ramps. They don't slide when raising the car, and they provide plenty of clearance to do minor work to the front 1/3-1/2 portion of the car. They aren't a substitute for a Snap-On Lift, but perhaps the next best thing.
Can't wait for spring.

ZR1North,
Where can you buy the 'race ramps' in Canada?
DaveK

I bought my ramps from Corvette Central - couldn't find any in Canada. At least with CC they figure in all the duty etc.
My question is where do you find the Amsoil? I found 10w30 in a couple of local stores but no 10w40.
We got up to +4 yesterday but its back down to -10 today. I'm getting ZR-1 withdrawal.

Bought my Race Ramps at Mid America (part # 118-125) - $199US.
AMSOIL is now available at most "Parts Source" stores. Be careful to look for the "Premimum Protection" version of the 10-40 Synthetic. It is a little more difficult to get than another version of the 10-40 Syn also avail. Both are good, but the PP scored higher in the friction tests (ref Marc Heibec's site). My local Parts Source can order the Permium Protection variety and have it in a week - about $10.00 a liter.

This weekend PartSource ran their $10 if your spend $40 coupon. Helps a little on some of this stuff. They seem to be running it at the start of every monthly flyer. Also, sign-up for their e-flyer and it gives you an email 2-3 days before their flyer breaks for some good door crashers.

I don't know how ya stand it Ryan, I'd have shot holes in my freezer by now, It'd look like swiss cheese.
One good thing, you probably don't have to worry, if you make
snow ice cream, about the "yellow snow"
It's just starting to become spring here in Missouri, grass is starting to turn green, it's in the upper 60's to low 70's during the day, and dips
into the upper 40's and low 50's at night. :hello:

Some days i don't know how i do it either :dontknow:. If it wasn't for all the time i spend 'inside' building engines, porting & on the dyno to keep me busy i don't know how i'd make it through. It's not super cold right now, around -5º to 0ºC/25º TO 32ºF, but it's not like you can do anything in that temp., that i enjoy anyways. I'm just venting on here more than anything...

5 degrees and sunny yesterday. Had to put some things away in the garage so I started the Z up. Fully warmed up, twice around the block and back in she went. Fun while it lasted. Got a request last week from the local Chevrolet dealer to have my Z on display Saturday at their indoor 'tech' session. Supposed to parked beside a '09 ZR1 and a new Callaway. Should be fun. I'll get some pics and finally figure out how to post them up.
