Adam's: HOW TO winter washing videos!

Friends, since Adam spends too much time every week at the local Buffs Wash here in Boulder, he thought that he'd show you his washing process.

This is NOT for your show car, rather it's how he washes the daily driver's that we beat up all winter long.

If you have any tips to help make this process better, we're all ears!!

Thanks for the videos - very good.

I must say that is the nicest drive up wash I have seen. Usually the brush is like a brillo pad, and a tiny bit of foam comes out of it.

I usually use my own brush and bucket and have to keep feeding quarters in like candy to keep the machine going. Oh, and $5.00 for 4 minutes is tough to get a car done so of course you have to put in like $10.00 but that is usually the owner's desire LOL

My two cents, I would never ever touch a carwash brush to my cars, daily driver or not. I'd rather have a dirty car I could clean later than a swirled car I will have to polish out. As you can see, the guy in the video used the brush to clean his engine after he washed the exterior. You never know what kind of crap that brush has been used to clean.

I think carwashes are useful for the pressure washer. I'd use it to spray the car down, which should dissolve most of the salt but won't leave it totally clean. I'd also focus as much or more on the underside of the vehicle as the guy did on the wheelwells.

I'd then either use the spotfree rinse and leave the car still dirty but with much less salt and corrosion agents, or I'd go home and use a rinseless wash in the garage to actually clean the car.

I wouldn't bother trying to clean tires or engines in the middle of winter.

I am assuming it's too cold to want to use a hose at home, otherwise you could just wash the car as you normally do when it is not winter.

Anyway, just my two cents. Nice videos, and thanks for sharing them!
