Well they went to ship the car and it didn't pass the E-brake test, it will hold the car when you pop the clutch, but they put it on an incline and stated the car rolls slightly....so DAS will not accept it. Whats the typical problem we see with E-brake, and approx cost to fix.

You sure they know how to set it?

It's self adjusting, but the e-brake on any Corvette is iffy anyways.

Lift the rear end to see if both sides are holding. If so, there's really nothing mechanical you can do. But, try stopping the car several times from 20 mph or so with the parking brake only to see if cleaning rotor glaze makes a difference. Else try fresh OEM pads
in place of your unknown pads.

Why is this even an issue with DAS (whoever they are)? Don't they strap the vehicle in place?

mine holds the car on flat surface but not on an incline.. DAS still shipped it to me..

could be misadjusted Caliper or cables the are stretched..

Mine is a Caliper issue, I have another set to try when I get the car back. but my vette was on a rollback and they still strapped on..

Anyplace near there where car can be stored waiting for first thaw? I should lookup the guys I used to ship. I'll be back tomorrow. Maybe Haibeck has a suggestion.

Ok, here is an update on the situation, DAS was nice enough to charge me $628 for not delivering my car....I called in a dispute with the credit card company, and have talked to DAS reps and am supposed to get a call back on Monday.

The dealership set me up with another shipper, and they are going to look at the car on Monday....might be here by next weekend. The dealership indicates they tested the brake it works great, the prior owner says the same and he is a former registry member and a nice guy.

I hope to have the car here soon!

Sounds to me the company you hired are scammers.
They like FREE money no work.
Post the full name of the company.

Famous last words. This whole transaction has unleashed the wrath of your Italian wife. You may not realize it, but you are messing with forces that go far beyond mere mortal capabilities. Don't say I didn't warn you. [-X

-Its a black gry 90 w/135K. #966
It was originally bought in Barrington Il.(about 10 miles from my house) and is now in New Hampshire...it has all receipts from date of purchase and included is a note for an "Engine Rebuild"....but no line items. The current owner says the engine was pulled to give it "updates" which I assume may mean valve seals, etc. I was told the engine was gone through and most wear items replaced.

It has a light weight fly wheel, RC injectors, Corsa Exhaust, etc. Apparently Haibeck examined the car at 110K and gave it a clean bill of health.

It has an aftermarket Apline stereo, etc

Best part is it has OEM 95 A-Molds......tires are new Sumos

Car is in decent shape, purchased for $10,500.

DAS agreed to refund my $628......at first they tried to strong arm me into signing an agreement for a pick up fee for $155, telling me they would not refund the $628 until I agreed to pay them the money.

I left a message and gave them 2hrs to refund the money or I would be contacting the State of TX attn general.....got a call and they are refunding the money ASAP.

I am praying car should be picked up today....as stated appears issue was parking brake was set incorrectly.

It only gets better, just got a call from the dealership.......they lost the check and now the owner, car is on consignment, says he is concerned about letting the car go. Car is scheduled for pickup tomorrow(where have I heard that line before), but who the hell knows.......this is getting pretty old.

Somebody offered the dealer more money. If you really want the car, you'll probably have to do the deal in person and drive it home.

This is looking like the type of stuff that usually plagues me when I do something......whatever can go wrong usually does.....I hope they get their paperwork straight so you can be done with this deal.
