Bob,

What did you decide on with the MagnaFlow? Did you look at the one on eBay? He has some good pics on it. Turns out he's a hotrodder and has built some pretty fast stuff. Some pretty good pics of the system too.

Here it is on eBay for 550.

Just arrived yesterday! Beautiful, but I haven't had a chance to do much more than inventory the pieces. What pieces do you want to see and where/when do you want to meet?

That eBay listing has pretty good pics of that. It shows the resonator as a straight thru.

I NEED MORE 440 INFO!!!!!!!!!!!

Did you have LA sleeve make the liners or?? Im in the middle of my 402 build, have not made the pistons yet. If the big bore (4.100/125 ) are going to be ready soon I'll wait. A 427 sounds better to me, then my 402.

No Body would make the liners They Said The Block Was to week, So we used a set of Blanks had them machined by a cnc shop They made blue prints of the sleves Then To save a step we sent them to darton to have them made again turned down. they would have to buy new tooling to make the water holes in the flanges, Not cost effective they told us.
Now we have a cnc program written.

Next the block Went To Another Cnc Shop To be Machined for the sleves with a .0015 Press fit Top & Bottom.
Then Back to the engine shop To be bored & honed to fit pistons, & check Crank line bore to see if anything moved, It didn't
Now I Will Assemble It And Be Ready For BG

Once you "pathfinders" have blazed a trail thru the CNC programming and parts sources...I'm very curious to hear what the prevailing $$ tag is going to be for tossin' a set of sleeves an buckets in to our LT5s is going to be? I thought I read somewhere that a conversion (depending on needing a crank, etc,) might be well under $10k?? THAT would put a lot of us over to the "dark side" for sure!!

current "440" 4.100/.125 bore blocks are from $6,500 to $13,500

This is the range I have heard from the 3 big bore guys, This is only the block and sleeve work. You must have the bucks and will to go this route. As the cost for the rest of your stroker is added into from the price above.

sweet! we just need to get nelson or somebody to step up and make a cnc billet block to allow these big bore deals

13,500 to mod the block is a bit much.

who was the "big guy" who would do it for 6,500

pretty big price range!!:icon_scra

4000 RPM it feels very strong.

Al, Pete told me last week that anyone can build HP with cubes, he said the real talent is doing it with a stock block.

(Yes, I am taunting to see if we can get a Pete/Al shootout at the track)

Lee, you missed pizza Friday night.
If you only heard 441 LT5 cubic inches the sound is freaking awesome and scary.

I would need a 150 shot to line up next to it.

427ci coming soon to a Registry near you. :-)

Pete,

I was going to wait but I will go ahead and announce it, I am working with the famous welder, JB, to Epoxy together all three of my ZR1 engines giving me 1050 cubes and over 1300hp.

We are currently cutting up both of my perfectly good ZR-1s and the entire thing can be see on the Discovery Channels new show:
Monstrosity Garage.

Of coarse, break it in easy. I'm glad to hear it's running, no head gasket problems. Not making metal, all the scary stuff you would worry about on a new mountain motor.
