Hello Everyone,
Over the Thanksgiving holidays I am going to try to remove a front spindle from my 1990 ZR1. I was wondering if there is anything special about the procedure? Any special tools required? If anyone has tackled this I would love some input on the specifics as I do not have a FSM. I did the rear spindle a few days ago and it really was a breeze. I am hoping the front is the same deal. I wish you all a happy Thanksgiving.:occasion1

No help here, just wanted to respond. Too many posts go without responses.

You just replacing the hub, or are you doing UBJ and LBJ?

Easier than the rear which you did. No special tool is needed. I assume you're not changing ball joints.

Exactly what I wanted to hear. Thankyou for the info. I am not messing with the ball joints. Instead I am sending my spindles to Aerospace Components where they will be used to fab up caliper brackets and rotor hubs. I already have the calipers and rotors from a Mustang project that I never got around to so hopefully Ill have a custom brake upgrade for not that much $$$. The calipers are nice 4 piston units and the rotors are small diameter so I can fit 15" drag wheels all around. Should be nice, + quite an improvement over stock despite the rotor diameter. I am swapping to manual M.C. as well and replacing all the lines. I'm certain my OEM brakes were in perfect working order but they just dont slow the car down fast enough. Ironically the ZR1's 13" PBR setup is the same as the Mustang Cobra's PBR brakes I originally bought the A.C. kit to replace. The PBR floating caliper setup is lacking in my world. I dont like it.
