I'm going to put my 68 mustang up for sale and use the cash to upgrade the performance on the Z. I'm porting and polishing plenum and injector housings myself which will cost me nothing. Then upgrade from my Borla to a B&B with X pipe. I don't care how loud and rowdy it is. Horse power is what I'm after here. And of course Jeal ceramic coated headers. When I look on B&B's website it looks like they only offer one model of exhaust system for the ZR-1 and it comes with a resonator. So my only question I have would be "are there other choices in B&B systems for A 90 ZR-1? Is that it? And what X pipe would work with it?

You have the Jeal Headers Already???

If not you need to buy them used unless you get Stainless Works (which are the same)

I know you are a machinist, so you can make sure you make the port centers in the correct locations at the flange. Core shift can be significant and cause problems with gasket alignment if the ports are simply enlarged concentric to their existing location.

Here's the dimensions I use to make gaskets for the plenum. Just offered to you as a courtesy reference. I might also recommend setting up on a vertical mill and counterboring each port abt 3/16" deep to make the port size & location correct. Then you can hand port & blend to the machined counterbore. Just a thought......

I'll have Corey make the Jeal knock offs for me. He has the fixtures and jiggs for them.

Jerry,

I have thought about grooving around the coolant passage using an O ring to seal between IH and cylinder head.
BTW, so far so good. Unfortunately, probably putting car away for winter.

No doubt that would be the ultimate, but let's hope it never comes to that.

Glad I'm far enough south to drive mine once in awhile through the winter. Doesn't turn really cold until Jan and even then we get a few good driving days.
