Jim Van Dorn's shop is just a little over a hour from me.
I'm beginning to think about some "enhancements" for my Beast and wonder if Jim is somebody I should consider before heading North to Marc or South to SGC.
- Why is it that when we discuss LT5 tuners Jim's name is never mentioned?
Any Comments from the Brotherhood?
Thanks,

That is a *DAMN* good question.
I would figure from all of his racing ZR1's & Black Widow stuff that his name would be right up there.

I wouldn't hesitate to take work to Jim. Jim's prices are very fair. He has forgotten more about our ZR1's than most of us will ever know. He also has a treasure chest of parts. What more can I say ?

I agree. I've known and used Jim and his AutoMasters team for years. Jim has always performed to perfection for me and many of my friends with very competitive/reasonable prices. He is not a parts changer; he diagnosis the problem and cause before starting corrective actions better than any shop I've ever used in 35+ years of playing with CORVETTES.
My relations and those of my friends involved CORVETTES; not just ZR-1s. Dealing with Jim is always a pleasure and you get more quality, effort and knowledge about your Vette than you expected. JVD is a great supporter of our hobby and source of "INSIDER" Vette history for years. He only did one thing that I don't like: he moved to Bowling Green which now makes my using his services almost impossible (but he's always available for advice by phone whenever I need it). I encourage you to call him should you ever have a problem or need service advice. You'll never forget your conversation!
Thanks Jim (if you read this) for all you've done for me, my family and friends. Visit his web site and look at all he has done for our hobby, his customers, and the Bowling Green Assembly Corvette Club that he sponsers.

Thanks,
I think it is because he does not list the mighty LT5 in his shops logo.
In all seriousness, he has a great reputation.
I suspect the other tuners are frequented based on their regional access and that they have great reputations as well.
