I've been told these engines produce a lot of carbon build-up. Can I use an additive such as "Redline Fuel System Cleaner" without damaging anything or is this not a good idea? Also I've heard the best way to keep this carbon from building up is really opening the car up on a regular basis to keep it "blowed out" just like we used to do on the old quadrajets. Any info appreciated, Mark.

Mark you are correct on all accounts. Use Red Line fuel injection cleaner. It won't hurt the injectors. Also correct on the carbon build up so yes open her up once in awhile.

How would you rate Techron?

I hear it is a good product however what I know about Red Line is that it is detergent based so it won't hurt your fuel injectors. I don't know if this is true for Techron.

I did use STP Injector Cleaner.. And then I did heard that problem was not leaking injectors.. it was bad fuel regulator.
