Most dealerships/shops charge 6-7 bucks a qt for M1(9 qts). 5-10 bucks for a filter and then a minimum of 10 bucks for labor. Plus they then get the disposal fee.

I think that for a dealer in a major metro area those offers are fair. The dealers in big metro areas have high overheads. I know the chevy dealer where I bought my new DD offers the same pricing on LOF jobs and the overheads in the NYC/Metro area are / can be a killer nut to crack every month.

Funny thing was I jokingly asked about what they would charge to do my ZR-1 and the service manager, not ser. writer as they don't have any of those, said I'd have to leave it overnight and that I should have them do the O & F + trans + rear gear for three hours labor charge and I should supply what fluids & filter I wanted used. I almost fell over backwards...(but it's a small store & the principal has a collection of 60's & 70's hot rods, ya gotta see his 64/ 409 SS impalla 4spd & fac air car.)....he didn't remember how much oil volume but he allowed he knew it had to sit a good while on the rack, unstarted to get a good drain. Needless to say I was quite surprised and said that we would talk later in the fall.

Tom

This was just a courtesy to the guys that may want their oil done by the dealer. No need to bash these guys and they did say they would honor their lower price for a Z. Jeffvette and tomtom72 understands what is going on with these guys.
