One person was killed and a second person injured after a car crashed down a ravine in north Kansas City on Sunday.
Rescue vehicles were having trouble locating the accident in the 9000 block of N. Sam Ray Road. Once they did find the wreckage, they found both victims were ejected from the car.
The late news last night showed film of the Corvette being pulled out of the ravine, and focused on a ZR1 badge.
Update:
The noon news identified the victim as Douglas McKenzie. The police have not released the name of the other passenger, nor who was driving.

Cage looks still intact, have they worn seatbelts the result wouldn't have been so bad. :(

By the looks of the damage to the passenger door, it wouldn't have mattered if the passenger had his belt on or not.

Shame for that to happen... Makes me think twice before I drive without my seat belt on, especially in the Z.

From what I saw yesterday Hadi the person causing the wreck was way over the legal limit not the Z driver

Watch the vid link in post 2
If the passenger had their seat belt on they may have died it looks like maybe good for her that she was ejected and survived -- rare when that is the case however!
Like the driver who too was ejected and did die.

Bryan:
The video in post #2 is from a different wreck, there wasn't any obvious way to link directly to the ZR1 wreck video. You have to click on the picture of the ZR1 below the video to view the clip about the ZR1.
