I just bought CCW Classic 3 piece wheels. When checking the air pressure I see the person I bought them from has over 40 PSI in each. Is there anything unique about 3 piece wheels that require or even suggest that higher air pressures are necessary?
Thanks.

That seems like a bit too much vs the posted OE psi. Isn't that the max posted on most of our tires? I'm sure you can play with tire psi to alter the handling traits to some degree. I always thought that the posted psi was a conclusion arrived at by the engineering people from the chassis dept and the tire maker???? I proly am not 100% correct on that for sure.....it just seems that I have learned that by going lower I can make changes to the way my car feels when I alter psi F to R .....it's not as dramatic with my Z as it is with my cobalt. All this is just seat of the pants impressions on my part, bassed upon no empirical numbers like lap times or any other std measure of chassis performance.... JMHO:mrgreen:
I should say that i've never owned high end wheels so I wouldn't have a clue as to what the mfg would have to say about tire psi's......what about CCW's website, any info on there??

Simple, those tires and wheels are just pumped up about being on such a fine looking Z again and the great trip they are about to take to OC. On the other hand they probably would be flat by now if some kid had snag them to stick on some rickety old F-body.

I believe with the shorter sidewall that you will want more pressure in the tires.
