Bob is in pain but I think he is okay otherwise.

Here is the link to see the photo's of my crashed ZR1

http://www.kodakgallery.com/I.jsp?c=ypy9fx9.2yj5chz5&x=0&y=jd4bt3&localeid=en_US (http://www.kodakgallery.com/I.jsp?c=ypy9fx9.2yj5chz5&x=0&y=jd4bt3&localeid=en_US)

I was sitting stopped waiting for a school bus to turn left, this 19 year old drunk kid in a 1998 Lincoln Navagator smashed into my rear end his estimated speed was 70 mph, spun me around, I hit the guard rail. I think I was knocked out for a minute, can't remember a few minutes...the kid tagged the school bus hit another car and fled the scene. The women behind me got his plate number. They got him!! I hit my head, got huge bump on my forehead giving me 2 black eyes all week. I have internal brusing, aches and pains.

Geeeeze Looeeeeeeze!!! It is a miracle you didn't get killed!! Seeing that car wadded up like that...I just don't have the words to describe it. You are a lucky man, Bob. The car can be replaced, but glad you didn't get ground up too! I hope you get "back on the horse". We'd hate to loose you from "The Brotherhood".

Yeah, I met Bob at Pete's garage, once last winter. Bob's car was on Pete's lift and they were modding the suspension, as I recall. That car was a jewel that exuded TLC. If Bob had the choice, I'm sure he'd rather it was the C6 and not the Z that was demolished. What a loss...

It hurts to see what sure looked like a beautiful and well cared for ZR1 bite the dust. On the other hand, she took a direct hit from a 70 MPH missile and protected you well enough to allow you to walk away. That says something. I’m not sure what but I’m impressed regardless. I’m glad to hear you are well enough to be able to talk about it.

Glad you were able to walk away from such a severe collision. Looks like your Z put it all on the line to protect you. I hope you have no lingering physical issues to deal with . But a real pity to see such a fine car meet its end this terrible way.

Holly cow bob! Seeing those pictures makes me afraid to take mine out for a drive for fear of something like that happening. Especially since I have Leland west. Very very very stricked. And I just renewed my policy with them. Not sure that was such a good Idea.

Glad to hear you are relativly o.k. considering. i can think of a lot of vehicles i'd rather get hit by than a navigator, big heavy tank. also great to see your jumping right back on the Zee bandwagon:hello:.

Wow:jawdrop: ..... sorry to hear about the accident, but glad your OK! Too bad you can't rescue the engine and the wheels. Looks like it absorbed the energy of the impact, consider yourself lucky. I'm impressed.

Wasn't there someone selling a 40K mile 94' somewhere in our Chicago area here recently? If I find it I'll post it.
Found it, it's a lightly modded 93', 49K miles, Red/Red, $24K, it's listed on the registry.
Hope you get back inthe saddle soon!
Regards
Hans

HOLY CRAPPERS BOB !!!

Sure GLAD you will be OK --- Good about the PUNK getting caught -- serves him right.

I can only imagine what went through the idiots head as he smacked your vette.

No doubt he was (and his insurance company) not happy to learn that it was not a standard C4 vette he took out but one of the KOTH models.

Both he and his insurance company will no doubt get a quick lesson on the extra value of the Vette and what a ZR-1 is.

Good luck with the healing up and glad to see you will still be a pilot of the beast there brother:thumbsup:

Well...that is terrible...reminds me of a time when I got t-boned by a pontiac sunfire...at the time I was driving a 69 Mach 1 mustang...I walked away but the car was destroyed. Glad to know the ZR1 can stand up to a Navigator. I would never have thought that could happen. Glad to know you are ok. There are plenty more ZR-1's to have out there these days. GL with the search.

Just shaking head....so sad to see a Z destroyed and in particular at the hands of a drunk driver... they should make the little sh*t go to your car with you there just to give him a taste of what his actions caused

Of course wonderful you can be around to post about it...hope you look to another Z soon.

Bob,

Just a got a chance to see the damage. Thank goodness you're ok. Says a lot about the ZRs structural integrity. I hope you haven't forgotten how to make pizza. You haven't lost your sense of humor. ;)

I'm sorry for your loss... As someone who knows your pain, I wish I could tell you it gets better. But six months after my accident, I'm still not over losing my ZR-1...

But keep your mind on what's really important - you're OK and that's all that matters.
