I may have to come up from INDY as I like that track- while I don't have a monster zr1 I will enjoy running 120's down the track. :-D
I should be finished with my trans in a few days.
If all goes well you can count me in.
I'm looking to break into the 125+MPH

Pete, Paul Workman and myself went today. Really fun. About 70 Vettes showed up altho only 3 ZR-1s . Surprised more than a few C6s today.
Pete really blew them away running 11.4s with a high trap of 128 WOW!
No question the LT5 is such a top end motor. My last run was up against a late C6 coupe. Had a problem gaining traction on 1-2 shift. Lost several tenths right there but was 6mph faster 114.5 at the top than C6. Just walked away from him last 1/8.
Raised $1100 for charity. Looking forward to doing it again next year. :hello:

Awesome day! Watching Pete n Dom run was thrillin stuff.:worship: I didn't intend to run, but excitement got to me, and sooo.... This was my first official drag race, and I ran a 13.2 at 111.x mph on a stock ZR-1. Dom and Pete wondered if I had short-shifted, and I believe I did shift short of 7k.
On the next run I made a point to run it out to see what would happen, but the dyno test from a couple weeks ago foretold that story: power peaks around 5.8k, so shifting around 6.3 or 6.4 would be a "good thing" (apparently), and wringing it out to 7k - sounded great - but not productive for the stock setup. However, that is about to change...I have a die grinder and new 3" SW headers, and I reeeeeeeeaaallly liked the look and sound of both Pete's (modified B&B) and Doms 3" (Flowmaster??) exhausts - especially the sound of Dom's. Sooo, I have a winter project, "fer sher". (P&P the top, SW headers, 3" something (no cats), mebby a bigger TB(?), and a tune, of course. Then we'll see what that does to the traps!;))
Dom is right tho...The Z's held their own and pulled like a freight train past the 1/8 point" - especially theirs which don't peak (hp wise) until 7k+;). These cars love their "Rs"!! Long live the KOTH!:dancing

Paul,
Just to clarify, the exhaust is a MagnaFlow on my car. We had fun didn't we.
Hopefully, we'll see some pics or vids of the runs.

i would love to see videos of you guys running your cars , especially petes fine ride . to see a stk blk run 112.3-4 with 3.45 gears is very impressive.and shows a dedication to see what can be wrung out of a stk blk. i think if he went to a 3.90 gear he could with a preped track get to the holy grail 10s

good time for a stock 90 Paul, first time out or not:thumbsup:
It was a great time.
Weather was perfect sunny 82*.
I was very happy with my Z's performance.
Paul,Dom, if we win the contest the President of ZR1NetRegistry will get a trophy to hang on to,till next years contest,we might have a chance.
I love the new is better/faster then old attitude of some guys.
There were a few C6 ZO6's, running 12's @ 118-120
I read other forums and most claim 125-128 MPH from there C6ZO6
It can't be most of these guys suck as drivers or can it?
Pete

Pete,
Most of the guys there didn't get the concept of "staging' a car but they did notice these ZRs blowing off C6s. I particularly enjoyed the last conversation we had with members of the Crown Point club and you. All nice people and duly impressed. We should come away with something given your 11.4, my 12.8, and Paul's 13.1.
We consistently had higher trap speeds too. Not many C6s got into the teens except for the Z06s or twentys.
Regardless, it was fun, it was for charity and everyone was very friendly.
P.S. Got a feeling Speed Inc. will be getting a few phone calls this week. :sign10:
