View Full Version : Do You Know Everything About Your ZR-1?

While ordering a set of fault code diagnostic grounding plugs from Gordon Killebrew's company "For Your Car, Inc.". Chris, his wife, asked me if I was interested in any of their C4 training classes. As we talked she told me school attendance for the C4 and ZR-1 classes has been a little slow, and if I was interested in any classes, they would even work around my schedule...I was interested in the advanced C4 & the ZR-1 class for a total of 4 days, back to back. Every time I suggested a date she said I would be the only one there.
Anyone interested in getting a group together to do the Corvette 103 (advanced C4) and Corvette ZR-1, at any date in the future? I'm flexable with enough advanced notice. I think I would get more out of the training with a few more ZR-1 owners asking questions I might not necessarily think of, and sharing experiences/problems with their car.
Any new and/or long time ZR-1 owners interested?
(I'm not doing a pitch or free commercial for "Gordon's School", nor will get a discount or break on the tuition)

I've been wanting to attend Gordon's ZR-1 class but haven't gotten around to it. Depending on when it is, I may be interested in at least the ZR-1 class.

I've done the ZR-1 class ... HIGHLY recommended. If the time is right I would enjoy doing it again simply because I would learn THAT MUCH MORE !!!
Keep me posted.

Is it bragging if I say yes.
Gordon has a lot of info though. Great guy.

No, and hope I never have to learn. So far, so good.

I had a one on one training with Gordon and it was awesome. Chris is wonderful and their hospitality was incredible. The only thing missing was my Z and of course I could not ship it from Hawaii (well, I guess I could if money was no object). Fortunately he had a customer's C4 there for us to work on and another customer that paid him a visit during our class. It would have been nice to meet other folks, but there was a plus to being his only student too; can't beat a 1 to 1 ratio of instructor to student.

For sure my answer to the first Q is emphatically No! To the second Q I would be up for that if we could do it on a weekend; maybe make it a long weekend for me as I would bring my Z to school so we could have something for hands on application of the lecture materials.
Just as a dumb Q: I thought you had to start at the beginning, C4 101, before you could take the ZR-1 & advanced C4 courses?

I had the same question when I talked with Mrs. K., she said there are no formal prerequisites for any C4/ZR-1 classes. You can visit their web site at www.gordonkillebrew.com (http://www.gordonkillebrew.com) and see everything they have to offer.

Several people have expressed an interest in attending Gordon Killebrew's
ZR-1 training class/school as a group. I am flexible for the remainder
of the year with the exception of the last week of October through the first week of November. Next year I have no near term scheduling conflicts.
I personally plan on attending the Corvette 103 (C4 advanced troubleshooting) and Corvette ZR-1 (operational and troubleshooting covering all aspects of the 90-95 ZR-1), back to back. They like to do their classes over a weekend...most likely that would be the best time for all those interested in the ZR-1 class. Mrs K. said they would/could do a Thursday & Friday for me if I wanted to take the Corvette 103 and Corvette ZR-1 all in one trip.
Once we get some serious students and agree on a date that works for
everyone we can contact the Killebrews and schedule our class/classes.

I am interested in attending the two courses. I know how hard it is to get a group to agree on a date, so thank you for your effort to set this up.
I will watch here for tentative dates, and if it fits my schedule, I will attend with my ZR-1.

Hey Clint, thanks for the answer from the source. I've been to the site and I used to dream about doing the whole C4/101 thru ZR-1 on some yet to be named vacation in the future.
My first 'parts order' for my Z when I got it was placed at Gordon's site.
Okay, I'm in as my remaining vacation time will be Friday's off till early December. After that I'll have to wait till January when we bid on '09's vacation time slots.

I am interested in the ZR-1 classes. I am also flexible in my schedule, so given enough advanced warning, I should be able to get there. It is probably a 12 hour drive for me, but I would like to know more about my car.
