Hi, I just pulled out the Bose deck to send off to Dr. Don. When I went to drive the car, I turned the valet key on and got nothing. No full power light and no full power. I tried grounding out the two wires on the switch to see if it was bad but, no matter what I do it's stuck in normal. Other than that, the car runs great. Also, no codes. Any suggestions, I'm stumped?

TIA,
Mike

If it worked fine before you pulled the radio - I would go back and look to see if there might be another connector that came seperated during the radio extraction. You might want to look to see if there are any blown fuses. Also check to see if there is a common ground point.

Thanks Don. I took the car for a ride to go get food last night. I played with the key but, couldn't get the light to come on. I got on it a little and noticed that I had full power again but, no light. I got on it a few more times and then the light came back on. Took the car out again tonight and all is well again. Hell if I know but, I'm sure whatever it was, will be back.

Pull the dic out and check your bulb to make sure it is completely seated. If you need a spare switch to test, I can send you one.

Thanks Jeff, I'll check the bulb. If the cylinder and key are still available, I'll probably just buy one to put on the shelf. I'm sure I'll need it sooner or later.

...leaving it in FP setting means less wear and tear on the switch...I find.;)

Yeah you're right. Just set it and forget it. Or, whatever that nimrod says in that ad.

I didn't know you could do it with the 90's. The chip needs to go back to Marc anyway so I'll have to ask him.

Im pretty sure the 90 is the year you can by-pass the switch and have full power all the time. No need to reprogram the computer for this. You just ground the full power wire from the ECM. Later years the computer looks for a make/break situation and grounding the wire doesnt work.
