How do the injectors come loose from the injector housing?
Thanks.

2 10mm bolts. pull the fuel rail up.

Once the screws are removed and the fuel line is disconnected you simply lift the whole assembly up and off. There is nothing holding the individual injectors into the housings other than the o-rings. Keep in mind they have been in there 18 years or so and will probably need some extra leverage to get started. I used a wooden hammer handle to pry the assembly off.
Good luck,
Hans

Thanks having never done it before, just didn't want to get too tuff with it, before I knew the only thing holding them in was the o-rings.

Its a little easier to work form the front and move to the back on the fuel rail.Work it a little, get it to move and them move back some and work it lose.

Also, no need to remove the fuel line. You can just lay both rails upside down on a towel on the windshield. I pulled all 16 out & installed all 16 like this.

Just to add, for more information overload....
Squirt a little wd-40 or a penetrating lube down by the injectors to help with removal. If they are really stuck, you run the risk of having the injector pop out and fuel going everywhere.
You can do the replacement with the lines still attached, but you have better control on a work bench.

I know that this is a bit rediculous, but if you have one of those Clubs....the end without the lock mechanism works perfectly as the "U" end fits the rail like it was made for it....stick it near an injector and lever against the I/H / cam cover....the rubber coating protects against any paint/powder coat marring....I doubled up a M/F towel & laid it along the cam cover for added protection.:o

I have the larger injector o-rings available that you will want to replace before you reinstall the new injectors. $1.00 each and you will need 8 - They are Viton rubber - Oil, Gas and Temperature resistant.
