Yep..The heater core took a dump and now the carpet on the passenger side is soaked w/ 50/50 "green stuff" antifreeze.

My inclination is to flood it with distilled water a few times and evacuate it with my shop vac, for starters. But, should I uses something else instead of distilled water? (I figured enough distilled water would dilute the solution pretty well, as a starting point. The carpet is (was) in perfect condition, so I'd like to salvage it if possible...IF possible (key words).

What say y'all??

TIA,

P.

Paul, it's not much work to completely remove the carpet section. Just pull the seat up and then yank up on the carpet.

Then you can hose it down and use some soap mixed with vinegar (vinegar cuts down on suds). Or you can have it professionally cleaned, shouldn't be much.
