Primary fuel pump

Does anyone know which pump is the primary (the one on the top or the one on the bottom)?

out on a limb.......I think the bottom pump is the 1* pump. I'll go look in my FSM and report back later.

Page 6c-2 Figure 3 in my GM Service Manual States the bottom is the secondary, top is primary

Unless your strapped for cash, I suggest you replace both pumps while your in there. Those things are 18 or so years old and have to run constantly. I did both of mine and if I recall the pumps were only about $65 a piece. Good insurance and sure beats having to do it twice.
