HELLO GENTLEMEN

I AM NEW TO THE FORUM SO PLEASE FORGIVE ANY ETIQUETTE VIOLATIONS!!

My name is Jim Watson. I am the Technical SaleSman for Stainless Works.

We have made corvette systems for about 15 years.

We make 304L stainless steel, mandrel bent, lifetime warrantied systems.

At the request of a forum member here we are designing a new series of exhausts.

Basically over the next four to five weeks we are creating an ala cart system for zr1 owners.

We are making both an "on road" and "off road" system with a true x-pipe for both zr1 owners with the desire to keep their factory manifolds or purchase our headers.

We are also creating headers that will mate up to your factory exhausts or our exhaust system. These will also be available in a catted "on road" system and an "off road" system.

This is just a short intro to the project but I will elaborate over the coming weeks and be happy to field all your questions.

Thank you for your time and interest.

Jim

Jim,

Looking forward to pictures and dyno numbers!!!!

Having complete systems available makes things easy.... Headers / High Flow Cats / Exhaust (plug & play that anyone can install WITHOUT a welder)

Everyone who has your Headers LOVE them and can stand by the performance claims....

Cheers!

David

THE BEST PART ABOUT THE SYSTEMS IS THAT THEY WILL ALL BE A BOLT ON ACCESSORY.

FITMENT WILL BE PERFECT AND NO TRIMMING OR TWEAKING WILL BE REQUIRED.

NO WELDING NOR MODDING WILL BE REQUIRED.

THEY WILL BE DESIGNED TO MAKE THE BEST HP POSSIBLE !!

ANY INPUT OR QUESTIONS ARE ALWAYS WELCOME.

you need any guinea pig cars for fitting?:D

I cannot wait until I have the $$ saved for headers

what size piping for the exhaust some believe 21/2 to 23/4 work best others 3 in , just wondering if you will be testing the different sizes to find the best power for the car ? i know its expensive but you would get a ton of respect if you explored the different sizes . just some thought i had . i do think its very nice of your company to take the interest in our cars that you have :dancing

Will there be an exhaust system specific for your current headers? (I have a pair I bought a few months ago on the CF group buy). If so, what will be the options for cats?

WooHoo! Thank you, Jim (and SW) for this effort and making this opportunity available! It is sooooo appreciated, believe me!

I'm "in" for this group purchase on the headers. Eventually, I intend to have your headers feeding a 3" exhaust system. Here and now, "cats" are not required, but later, who knows where I might live? So, this "a la carte" approach means lots of options down the road...Sweet deal!:worship:

One question: I can buy a "no cats" system and later put cats on (if later required to, i.e, some other state), yes???

Looking forward to the results in a few weeks!!

hey Members,

Anyone interested (seriously) in purchasing these systems @ a SUBSTANCIAL discount, please post here or PM me.

We have 8 people confirmed and need 12 to get our #'s. We have under 2 weeks before the discount goes away.

Many of our members have this system and we have only heard great things about their products... If you have any good OR bad things to say, please advise our membership!

Cheers!

Are there any pics of the catbacks and or how they look at the rear exit?

Aurora40

Yeah, you need 12 people for the headers? Or for anything? We don't know much about the cat-back system as it stands. :)

We need 12 "purchases"...

Doesn't require Cat back system.

Jim will supply details / pictures / hp gain / etc etc in the coming days.

Jim,

I'm "IN", but "hanging fire" to see what has developed w/ regard to SW's investigation/experimentation you mentioned in an earlier post. When do you expect to divulge your 'final' determination/offerings so I know which product to order?

In any case, I'm "in", and anticipating a mid July order time frame (from what I gather from you, Jim, is about right, no?)

Hello gentlemen

I am happy to say that the cadcam and robotic roamering are nearly done and we are ready to begin building the first step. A mock up skeletal system. which will be used for cnc digitizing.

After that a pattern piece is built, test fit, and used to create jig and fixtures for test pattern pieces. After that we will convert the bends to cnc for mandrel bending and the flanges to cad for laser cutting.

once we have a final pattern we will check it in the fixtures and move on to the next piece.

This is done with every piece.

Probably close to 120 pieces with all of the potential combinations we are building for this car.

Did i mention we make over 600 different mufflers??????????????

Any sound level....any performance level............any length. All 304l lifetime mufflers.

we dont use glass packs. we use stainless steel packs!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

also...lifetime!!!!

we have a lot of work to do to get to the first prototype piece, which will be tested to confirm our expectations on horsepower and torque.

catback to factory manifolds, headers to factory exhaust and most aftermarket exhausts, and a total sw system!!!!

All in offroad and catted versions.

All bolt on at home!!!!!!!!!!

All with our lifetime warranty.

Ps- no relation to the Watson headers!!

I did design performance systems and exhausts for Harley Davidson and my family does own Ohio's oldest dyno performance shop.

My toys you ask??????????????

I own a few toys:

Dad bought a 1969 427 435hp tri-power 4 gear stingray brand new in 69. drove it only 2k miles..........left it to me. it is still asleep in the garage. silver with black interior. last driven....1981.

1985 factory triple silver tpi vette. Silver everything in and out. silver leather. also asleep... it is now a WELL COVERED workbench in the garage.

1977 factory tangerine camel corvette with full factory camel leather. every day driver and winter car.

1968, 1969, 1970 r/t 440 hp dodge chargers, 1970 440 cuda, 1968 coronet r/t 440hp.

garage queens............all of them.

2008 pt cruiser. grocery getter.

1989 toyota carolla...........low miles, rust free, 45 mpg , yet still just something i keep around to kick when i get stressed.

PSPS- I AM ANTICIPATING GETTING EVERYTHING FINISHED UP AND TESTED MID JULY. WE CAN TAKE THE ORDERS THEN. IT WOULD HELP HAVING ORDERS IN ADVANCE SO MATERIALS AND SCHEDULING COULD BE READIED.

HOWEVER; I DONT EXPECT YOU TO BUY ANYTHING THAT DOESNT EXIST YET.

( I HAVE THIS LAND FOR SALE JUST A FEW MILES SOUTH OF THE FLORIDA KEYS) HA HA

ONE THING TO REMEMBER IS THAT WE TAKE YOUR ORDER AND CREDIT CARD ON THE SAME DATE BUT WE NEVER HIT YOUR CARD UNTIL THE DAY IT SHIPS!!! AND YOU ARE NOTIFIED THAT DAY AND SENT TRACKING INFORMATION, ETC ETC.

I WILL MAKE ALL THE INFO AND PICS AVAILABLE AS THEY MATERIALIZE. RIGHT NOW EVERYTHING IS JUST DIGITIZED BITS OF INFORMATION. VERY IMPORTANT....BUT NOT MUCH TO LOOK AT.

KINDA LIKE A FEW WOMEN I KNOW!! LOL.

HAVE A GREAT WEEKEND GENTS.........CHAT AT YOU NEXT WEEK.

I'm interested in tilizing my stock exhaust, at least the tips. So, maybe the headers X Pipe and high flow cats mating up to the factory stuff somewhere? Have you ran any tests with a setup like this? I'm curious to what it will sound and perform like. I would like an increase in sound and HP while retaining the stock appearance from the street.

I would like an increase in sound and HP while retaining the stock appearance from the street.
FWIW, I have SW headers to cats to stock pipes with an LT4 resonator and Dynomax Ultraflows mated to stock tips.

On a Superflow dyno it went from 325 to 350whp with the exhaust, then 370 with the headers.

I think it sounds great, and not nearly as loud as many systems. Though it is not quiet and does have more resonance than stock.

Are you considering xpipe/resonator combo?

JIMSTAINLESSWORKS

WE ARE FINALIZING THE SYSTEM FOR DIGITIZING AND RAN INTO A LITTLE SNAG. THE PROTOTYPE CAR WE HAVE HAS CORSA AXLE BACKS ON IT AND AN AFTERMARKET MID PIPE SET UP THAT IS NEITHER GM NOR CORSA.

SO WE ARE OBTAINING AN ORIGINAL GM LEAD PIPE AND MIDPIPE SYSTEM.

ONCE DONE WE WILL HAVE SYSTEMS THAT ALLOW YOU TO ORDER OUR HEADERS FOR YOUR FACTORY EXHAUST. OR YOU CAN ORDER OUR EXHAUST TO FIT YOUR FACTORY MANIFOLDS................OR A COMPLETE SW SYSTEM, HEAD TO TOE.

WITH OR WITHOUT CATS.

THATS WHY WE NEED THE FACTORY MID SECTION. TO MAKE CERTAIN THAT OURS WILL MATCH YOURS.........EVERY CAR AND EVERY TIME.

SO WHATS THE GENERAL FEELING ABOUT THE HOT AIR TUBES ON THE MANIFOLDS?

MUSTANG GUYS REMOVE THEM............ MOPAR GUYS KEEP THEM ON.

EITHER WAY IS FINE WITH US.

SHOULD THEY BE AN OPTION?.

If you mean the A.I.R. tubes where fresh air is pumped into the manifolds, then I would have wanted them to be an option. I paid extra to have these fabricated to my SW headers. In VA (or at least the more populated counties), they need to be present to pass the visual part of emissions testing.

As one of the guys who is "on the fence" with the group purchase, I concur that the A.I.R. tubes need to be at least an option. Can't get through emissions and registration without passing the visual inspection... Thanks for working taking the time to work a project for these great cars!!

tomtom72
07-07-2008, 06:11 PM
I'd like to cast my vote that the A.I.R. tubes and the O2 bungs be at least an option......In the Republik of NY the state inspection of your emissions' system includes a visual exam of all the parts, if it isn't there you fail.

I would gladly pay to have those added to my set by you guys, rather than me trying to find some one to install that stuff after I buy the headers. Thank you for efforts on this deal!

Thanks for doing this Dave!
