Turn it off. That's what I do, and that was the consensus on the ZR-1 net listerv a number of years ago.

Are you talking about a ZR-1 or the Mustang?:dontknow: :mrgreen:touche!!!!!! the new to me callaway475 snat zr1 its a 92. the first time at the strip 2weeks ago i found out you have to turn the valet key on everytime you start the car. i didnt even know the 92 had traction control till one of the kids showed me.boy did i feel stupid :jawdrop: i wonder how much et it cost me . last time best was 13.03 @111.66 . weATHER WAS REALLY BAD 20 mph headwind and dust blowing on the vht . one car wrecked @the 1000ft mark shutting the track down for an hr. the kids have taken the mustang apart and are getting her ready for painting as we speak .mustang hooks really well . but they want to go to an automatic . so california trans aka art car is building a trans for it . so i want to go try her again and see if with one of bill bs magic trannys and traction control off if i can get her to do a little better .

What is this 'traction control' you speak of? Is this a later model year than a 1990 item added?

yes Traction control, also called ASR on the vettes, started in the 1992 Model year..

I hate to sound like some "old foggey"....but I'm kind of glad my 90 doesn't have ASR....it's one less system that I have to worry about getting non-existant parts for if it goes down....sometime in the future. ;)
