fuel pump reinstallation

I'm replacing the both pumps. No great shakes getting them out, but I'm having a bear of a time getting back in correctly. I've got the whole assembly in the take, but I can not get it to seat correctly. I have about 3/4" left to get it completely seated. What's the trick here?!?

No secrets just keep playing with it and it will fall in place.....
