What kind of break in have you folks with the Fidanza flywheel and stock clutches used? Mine will finally be back tomorrow. I want to take it to the track but want to make sure it will last.

General rule of thumb is 500 miles. But just being gentle on it for a couple of hundered will be fine. And make sure it's fully engaged before nailing the throttle. You just don't want it to glaze.

i like a couple heat cycles & as Jeff said...keep the glaze to the donuts! one of my customers glazed a brand new Mcleod soft lock, chased his tail for a while on that one:icon_scra

Definately gotta give it a couple of hundred to seat in. I took the car out for a drive after I put mine in and ran up against a Cobra Mustang.
There's a Cobra in town with a good story to tell.
I'm still looking for him again. :(

Well car is back and yes I have the rattle. It seems to be more pronounced in 5th and 6th at cruise. I can see why non performance oriented people would get rid of them. I on the other hand cherish the sound as just another performance mod that has made me aware it is there. It has been a long, long time for me, but if I remember right, this is similar to the old Muncie M22's and the sound they made. It was very distinct. I'll get used to it I'm sure, especially since I have well over a Grand in my pocket from the difference in cost compared to the DM Flywheel.
I now have over 50 miles on it and expect to hit the 200 plus mile mark before I hit the track Saturday night. I'm driving it to work and that 30 miles round trip and will add more after work both days and Saturday morning.
It feels stronger in 1st-3rd and revs quicker for sure.
Thanks for all the info and posts from you all (over several threads). So far I am a happy camper.

I got a surprise for a certain Viper at Firebird on Saturday night. Last year he had 12.8 on the window, I had a 12.9. Last time out on April 7th, I got me a 12.5 with a slipping clutch. Nyuck, Nyuck.

Well, things didn't go so well at Firebird. I would have posted earlier but the (*^$*^& server was down again.
I popped (and I mean it popped too) a half shaft u-joint on the first run at the starting line. Made it all the way down the track at about 20 mph with the tail end wagging when I gave it the slightest gas. Had to be towed home and when I got the shaft out it was damaged on one flange. After removing it, one of the u-joint legs had broken and the other cap was blown out.
WVZR-1 has me hooked up with another and I have the non-greasable Spicer U-Joints on the way. I'll get him fixed and try again later.

Damn John. That sucks. Time to replace all the u-joints. Get the shaft balanced as well since you took some damage.

As I mentioned I'm buying another. I'm thinking it shouldn't need balanced, but I have no experience with this. I'll check tomorrow to see if I can get it done here.
