Brad:

Not sure I understand your question about the two bolts on the shifter, but if you're asking if it's a shifter problem the answer is in my opinion; "probably not".
My guess is that something like this has happened:

Getting the CBeam off and out does require a little "Persuasion".
A crowbar would not be an unusual tool to be used in the process.
Of course, prying on the driveshaft is asking for trouble....[-X[-X

I agree completely. Same thing happend to mine. After I first noticed it just cruising around town, slowing down on it's own like brake pressure, bot no brakes applied,I headed home. Didn't make it. It seized in the center lane of a 4 lane road & wouldn't move. Shifting to neutral makes no difference. Entire driveline is locked until the drive shaft is uncoupled.

I talked to B.B., told him I had been running RedLine. He said this is the 3rd instance of the same failure in trannies running RedLine. He wasn't sure if it was related but certainly noteworthy. FWIW, I put Castrol in my new tranny.

Jerry, I have seen a few transmissions now with redline in them. They all had excess leakage and foam coming out of them. When they leave they have the Castrol in them.

Same deal here...burned it up pretty good. Pushing in the clutch didn't help, and instantly I was relieved it wasn't engine related, but definately gear related. I was able to get off on the shoulder before it locked up and I slid to a halt!

Bill B opened up the oil galleries on my new ZF and filled it with Castrol. He also matched the springs on the syncros which resulted in the most silky smooth shifts I've ever experienced in a manual trans. Bill ain't cheap, but I feel I got the quality I paid for.
