The short block was complete last week with the rest to follow this week.
Pistons are 9:1 custom units
New cylinder bore is 4.030"
CI is 374
Stock rods (reworked)
Stock valve train and rods (light weight lifters added)
Heads are lightly ported with a fresh performance valve job

And I assume that lowering compression has something to do with running the car on E85 or a lower octane in order to reduce your operating expense and reduce greenhosue gases, correct?:D
Or is it going to be a high boost LT-5 to blow the F:censored:n doors off the new LS9 motor.
I'm good with either!

This car is a rear mount twin turbo. Boost will be tow levels, 10 or so for street and 15 or so for track days. HP will be more than the LS9 :D

Our projected release date for the LT1 system is 1 July. We hope to be ready with the LT5 kit 30-60 days later. Just a guesstimate... :pray

I think that the atten to detail , to get it right first, shows the class that you all have , and that this will be a great start to a very first class company.the sts people have a great idea but have rushed their kits and used second grade parts . i have had first hand experience with this with a camero kit .your parts choices are indeed first rate . when you offer this for the zr1 i will be happy to order a kit the day you offer it to the public. please let me know when you do .

You bet...
I've been with him every step of the way. He knows what he's doing...
After this one we should be able to rebuild or up-grade a motor (to what we did) in about two weeks. That is after parts arrive...
BTW - most all of the well know LT5 builders have been helping us out in one way or another. Thanks guy's!

I read where you are looking for a few LT1/4 guys to buy the system and let your installers do the job free to work out the bugs.
I would like to offer up my LT5 for when that project needs guinnee-pigs.:D

$1250 and worth every penny... Let's just say there was money left in the budget after buying A26's gaskets! Thanks Jerry, You've done us all a great favor!

Jerry and I supplied every piece of data we could plus the service manuals. All the data; manuals and the engine guy's experience w/ multiple overhead CAM configurations will be nothing but extra insurance...

Ron,

2 Bolt
The motor is the original motor from my 91 blk/blk #383 w/ 14k miles.
Some of the coolest things about the bottom-end is that we could re-use the Main Bearings and Piston Rods. Our engine guy thought the Rods were beefy and perfect for boost. He cleaned up the engine bearings and then sent them out for coating. I believe he took out .0015 from both the main and rod journals to account for the coatings. They were absolutely beautiful when we got them back. Even though I had a new set of bearings there was no reason to use them because he would have coated them anyway. This will save lots of cash on future LT5 builds.
BTW - yes I will be offering both low and high compression LT5's when this is done.
Cheers,
RH

How did the leak down come out with those purdy heads(since the cams didn't look like they were in yet)? Can't wait to see her running......should be fun playing with that boost and 900 ponies!!!:dancing
