Ran across this looking for some refinishing info for my Series II Dymags, I wonder what cost would be to re-create these rims I might call next week and see.

BRing the wheels over here. We'll try them out on my car. I have C5s.

You know Dymag is still around, right? I'd think if there were a market for it, they'd probably be in a better position to make them again. I don't think many people will shell out for them though.
The wheels they are making now for Callaway are magnesium and carbon fiber for even less weight.

I know Dymag is still around, however they focus mainly on motorcycle rims. I know in looking around I think someone posted that they wanted $35K to make the mold again. Since getting mine I have had 3/4 offers just based upon my avatar(the one I use on CF and DC). Also a good source for replacements.

I called MA castings, production cost for the first set would be $15K and then $750 per wheel in Magnesium. Ouch! He said that if I just wanted to produce 1 set (the 17x11s) vs doing both 17X9.5 & 17X11s he could reduce it to $9K, and then $750. Thats alot of :censored: cash, but without doing the math for 20 sets that would be about $3400- $3800 per set.

Man, so that's what a set of wheels.....let me correct that, so that is what a well made set of wheels from a reputable mfg costs...yikes!
I'll put that on the list of things that I'll proly never afford, 4k for wheels is way to far for me.....I'm too cheap & just plain can't afford that kind of $.
Just a thought, seems to me anything in 17" is a waste if the tire choices keep going extinct. I mean what good are quality wheels if ya can't get quality tires to put on them? Kind of defeats the idea of owning a sports car?

who has a photo of dynamag wheels for ientification purposes? Also who knows about chief packages for 1992 # 0389? Also who knows about a "phase one' silver/black on console between shifter and glove box with a zipper like icon in a diamond?

Also, they are dymags, not dynamags. :)

it has been suggested that i have a chief package on my 1992 #0389. I don't know how i could determine that. There is a 'phase one' emblem on the console with a zipper design in a diamond shape.

The obvious thing to look for is both the Callaway header/cats, and the SuperNatural exhaust. Less obvious would be the single-mass steel flywheel or Callaway prom.
That emblem doesn't sound like anything Callaway made. Can you take a picture though? Take a picture of the exhaust manifolds in the engine bay, and I bet we could tell you if they are Callaways or not.
Also you can call Callaway as Jeff suggested. They keep pretty good records.
