Jeff, the reason for last minute,it was a last minute decision to do a MidWest Gathering it was decided this past a couple of months ago and just got the date confirmed.

If we get enough corvette people 50+ to race if some Indiana members show,we'll be able to do this.
I know i can get 50 racers the problem is i would have to go to other sources like the Viper and Mustang guys, heck i could get the Evo guys to show up with some fast Evo's.

For now we'll see what we get with Vettes only if not enough responses then we might consider other sources.
Let me know what you guys think.
We will set it up better for next year.

I wanna have some grilling, do it as a family thing bring kids, wifes, mother in laws :).

I was really trying to make it to your Midwest Gathering. It would have been great to fly up and pick my car up at Marcs. I haven't seen it or driven it for over 6 months! Unfortunately, I'm not going to be able to make it this weekend.

You guys have a great time. If anyone has a camera while at Marcs and has a chance to shoot a picture or two or my 91 Blk/Blk Z, please do. The weather is getting nice and I'm having ZR1 withdrawal...

Keep the shiny side up.

Not to butt in, but it surprised me as well to see IL having the most ZR-1s listed among this board's posters/readers. And, we're relatively close together, for the most part. Gotta admit, for being a noob to Zs, having the likes of Marc Hailbeck and Pete and so many other Z gurus so close by...well, it totally removes any fear of beating the fool out of an 18 year old super car!

Anywayz, wish ya could be here too!

It was such fun to "talk shop" and listen to so many discussions re a variety of "Z" topics. Then cruising Marc's shop to see "whats cookin" is always a good time too! I left with my head so full of new info and stuff it made me dizzy(er)!;)

And, Lee...Awesome chili!! & Thanks for the borrow of your sweatshirt!! Love it. Gonna have to have a couple for my Ami and me to put in the cars (her's n mine) for just such occasions. PM me w/ your addy and I'll gladly mail it to ya, if I'm not in "the hood" working. (Hate to keep it till June - You might need it before then!)

Thanks again, Pete/Marc! We should do this again soon. I'll buy the meat!

Good Times yesterday,

Great to see everyone and put a name with a face, and thanks to Marc for being generous enough to invite us all over to his shop. This was a risky move on Marc's part, since the Chicago crew is not too handsome and probably warded off a few cash carrying customers(see photos). The only disapointment was that the "factory" tour of Haibeck's did not include any "free" samples.......there are some seriously nice cars there.

We also found out that the LT-5 can take some serious abuse, and that 315's are very loud when they blow! I think Pete is picking up some krylon to touch up those rear quarters....thanks Hisnhrs. Kidding, but seriously we saw examples that only confirm how tough the LT-5 motor can be!

Now see, you guys had a chance to really help out a brother and look what you've gone and done...

You had a great time with my car all the while knowing I’m trying to get it back home to Maryland. The least you could have done was to put the big pieces in a box and ship them home. Do ya think there is anything left to sell?

Nice to put a face with names. At least I’ve got a pretty good idea of who to be looking for when I come up to pick up what’s left.
