Hi All, I apologize if this is redundant. I'm a newbe ZR-1 owner, '90. I had to pull my speakers and CDM for repair. I would like to pass along something that was not in the GM shop manual, or any other instructions that I was able to locate prior to doing the removal of the CDM.
Once the CDM mounting backet is exposed there are seven, in a '90 Z, wiring harness connectors attached to it. The job of R&R'ing the CDM is much easier if those connectors are removed from the bottom of the CDM mounting bracket. Also, if you separate all seven connectors and move the ends aside it gives way more room to work.
I know I can't be the only rookie Z owner that might R&R the CDM. The more experienced owners probably already know about what I found by dumb luck. If the administration staff feel that this is not necessary as a post please feel free to delete the post. Tom
