2005 Corvette Racing Partners
Team Story 2-9-2005
Detroit, Mich. - GM Racing is pleased to announce its 2005 Corvette Racing corporate partners, with a special thank you to Compuware, the primary sponsor whose continued support will usher in the new era of Corvette racing with the all-new Corvette C6.R.
Compuware is one of the world's top information technology (IT) staffing firms. Founded in 1973, Compuware serves the leading IT organizations, including more than 90 percent of the Fortune 100 companies. For more information, go to: www.compuware.com.
"Partnering with GM and Corvette for the fourth straight year to create the Compuware Corvette Racing program is a great way to reach our best customers with the Compuware story," said Compuware Chairman and CEO Peter Karmanos, Jr.
Secondary Corvette sponsors include: Mobil1, Motorola, XM Satellite Radio, GMAC, Michelin, AER, Bose, Corsa Performance Exhausts, and PRS Guitars. The logo of each company will be displayed on the Corvette C6.R during American Le Mans Series competition (ALMS), and at the legendary 24 Hours of Le Mans. See the following supplemental document for background information on each company.
"GM Racing is proud to be associated with the Corvette Racing sponsor companies, as each is known for excellence and quality in its respected industry. But more than just sponsors, GM Racing Business Development seeks companies with whom it can enter into longtime partnerships and develop a true synergy. We're building a family of GM-powered partners who are contributing to the achievements of the Corvette Racing program," said David Pettit, GM racing business development manager.
The Corvette C6.R will make its ALMS debut at 12 Hours of Sebring in March. GM's two-car, factory-backed Chevrolet sports car program will compete in the production-based GT1 class of ALMS as well as the 24 Hours of Le Mans, a race where the Corvette has won its class for three out of the past four years. The new race car is the most technically advanced sports car ever developed by General Motors, culling years of experience from the dominant Corvette C5.R as well as the advancements brought forth from the next-generation Corvette C6 and Z06 production models.
