Well, I dont know if many of you recall the "deal" I got on my car back in October. I bought it from a member of CF who had it for a little while. (I'll leave out names to protect the innocent)....I think I did still get a good deal, but it probably wouldnt be if I had to send the car out for all the work to be done, instead of doing it myself.

I have been learning alot & discovering alot about the car itself. Knowing myself, sometimes I think I purchased the wrong car. Being a bit of a perfectionist, I like everything to be just so......and its taking a fair amount of effort to get things right. Thats fine, cause I actually do like working on cars. It gives me satisfaction to bring cars "back to life" so to speak. That being said, I know the car will never be a perfect specimen. Thats ok too. Its my first ZR, but not my last.

Like many of you, I have really caught the sickness....I've been trying to sell my Z06....to get another ZR:razz: ....beit, not very hard. I love my Z06 also.

In the meantime, I plan on making the 92 run as best as I can get it. Anything thats questionable will get repaired or replaced. I want to make sure its healthy & in top running condition before adding the fun stuff. :dancing ie: headers/exhaust, Fidenza flywheel, brake upgrades etc.

Heres the short list of what I've done thus far:

1. reverse light switch
2. 4 wheel brake job, pads & rotors
3. new brake M/C
4. Accel injectors (x16)
5. Accel coils
6. Iridium plugs
7. Secondary actuators
8. Serpentine belt
9. T-stat
10. Samco Hoses
11. New Radiator
12. changed rear end lube/Royal Purple
13. Amsoil & filter
14. Air filter

.........and many hours of cleaning suspension parts, engine, etc. Thanks to all you guys who have given good advice and steered me in the right direction. I dont think I would've had the incentive to do all this stuff without the Registry and its members. :worship:

John, the best part is you are learning. Keeps you out of the dealership service bay.

When does your other actuator show up?

No doubt......the dealership labor costs would have had me spending 3x's what I have so far....actuators should be here Mon or Tue =D> .....then, the hoses should be here mid next week also. Almost there!

I installe d the M/C yeterday. I bench bled it....think thats enough, or will I need to crack all the bleeders?

You should completely bleed the system just to make sure. Doesn't take long.

John, now I don't feel so bad after reading your list......I thought it was just my luck with buying used cars!

Nice going.....3x the $...I think ya might be low ballin' the estimate! The weird part is that a dealer tech might mostly be learning also, unless they were fluent in LT5's.

Kudos to ya man!=D>

If it isn't...Ya might be thinking "compression check"...(EEE-gads!:( Hear's to hoping it is 100% when the torque wrench is put away this week!!)

Shut your mouth!!..(lol) I think, and have been told by some of the LT5 gods, that its more than likely not an internal problem ie: (crank, piston etc.) I think if its still there, I might look into the trans pilot shaft bearing, or clutch assembly.

Remember, its only happening at a small window of the rpm band...like 800-950. Otherwise, the engine is very smooth & strong as an ox. We shall see....:o
