I've received the 410's, new bearings, oil seals and shims from Marc Haibeck and have removed the diff and carrier/cover.
I've looked through the workshop manual at the steps involved but couldn't continue any further today as by circlip pliers are straight and I need to get an angled pair.
So for any of you guys out there that have already done this, do you have any tips for me??

I haven't done this but would be real interested to see some pictures as you go along. Especially removing the carrier. I do know that the real key to a good setup will be in the pattern on the gears (white grease I think). There is a piture on Marc's website of a good pattern. Wish I knew more to be able to help.

Be sure you use proper size angled pliers in removing the side shaft circlips. Otherwise you will have a devil of a time and could damage the circlips which are ground to a special thickness and not easily replaced.
You will also need a dial indicator kit, case spreader, and depth micrometer for setting up the pinion height. Also get a set of setup bearings for both the carrier and pinion as they make shimming a lot easier.
Other tools you will need access to include:
Pinion yoke holding tool
Bearing press
1 5/16" socket for the pinion nut
Large torque wrench for the pinion nut.
Small inch/pound torque wrench for setting pre load on pinion bearings
Seal and bearing removal/installation tools.
Once you have the pinion height set correctly it is just a mater of adjusting carrier shims so the backlash is within specs and while having a good mesh contact pattern.
Be sure to use a dail indicator when spreading the case so you don't exceed the maximum allowed.
I did not care much for the stock 1/2" bolts used for the carrier caps so I went instead with ARP studs, washers and nuts.
Here are the ARP Part Numbers:
Stud - AR4.060-LB
Hex Nut - 200-8607
Washer - 200-8514
These studs thread much deeper in the case and are much stronger than the stock grade 5 bolts.
