What would need to be done if I needed to remain smog-legal?
Is there a high-flow cat set up that would go behind these?
Thanks
Scott

Absolutely nothing!
To be honest, I have two sets of these headers and the other set is on my car. I don't have cats behind mine and passed smog testing with flying colors in Austin, Texas which has very stringent requirements. I believe there are quite a few people that have headers with no cats and don't have problems with smog.
Just another awesome attribute of the LT5

I would think making them "legal" would depend greatly on where you live. If they require all factory equipment, you would need to add AIR tubes and cats for a '90-92, and I believe also EGR for a 93+
Good luck with the sale, they look really nice!

I got a set of Jeal headers for use here in California. I wanted to keep it
as legal as possible, so I sent the headers to Marc Haibeck who added the AIR and EGR fittings (1995) as well as heat coating and new chip. I had my muffler guy weld up a pair of hi flow cats. Passed CA smog no problem.
PS Marc cut back the collectors to move the cats as far forward as possible. I heat shielded all wires that were close.
I'm running the Jeal headers on my '94 ZR-1. Great fit and finish, nice product, especially when you compare them to what they are replacing.

I had mine coated by Swain Tech, and they look awesome (not that you can see much of them from up top when installed!).
Good luck with the eBay auction.

I wouldn't promise anyone they will pass the Texas smog test without cats. I have cats and Jeals and I have a heck of a time passing. I live in Houston and we may have higher standards than Austin. So my word of caution is find out the requirements for your area.

Thanks for all the input guys, and to Scottys7 they are right, you'd better check your local stipulations as they may be different. Thanks everyone.

So when did Austin start smog testing? And what is the test method?

I think it was about two years ago. After a while I got smart and started taking my car to San Antonio where I am going to school now.
You're in New Braunfels? I drive the Z up there quite a bit and hang out at Corey's.

Local regs state it must meet original manufacturers specifications - so I just need to make it as clean as it was new.......
sorry for the hi-jack.
