Quasar Blue ZR-1 Database

A while ago, over on CF we had a thread to try to identify all the Quasar Blue ZR-1's. Since I don't go to that forum much anymore, I decided to move that thread here.

dbriana and I have gotten data on almost half of the 121 Quasar Blue's made. Quasar Blue Metallic was available from 1990 to 1993.

1990: 19 made, 4 identified with serial number and owner
1991: 80 made, 37 identified
1992: 15 made, 5 identified
1993: 7 made, 5 identified

If anyone has or knows of a Quasar Blue ZR-1 post here or PM me.

1990: 19 made, 4 identified with serial number and owner
1991: 80 made, 37 identified
1992: 15 made, 6 identified
1993: 7 made, 5 identified

Anybody else know of any Quasar Blue ZR-1's?

I would be willing to bet it is a 1991, since 507 was quasar and there seems to many grouped together in my list, and it being saddle, since they went to light beige in 92.

In response to a question to the NCM about color combinations, I received an email from Betty Hardison, Resource Center Coordinator. She says they're in the process of scanning all their build sheets into a database and to "check back' in October / November". Hopefully, we'll finally have a definitive resource for determining all the ZR-1 color combinations, build-dates, etc.

FYI, my '92 color combo list is at 122 and holding.

I have heard the same thing about NCM getting all the build data computerized. It will be a valuable resource.

I didn't get a firm answer when I asked about how "users" could accress the data, so we will have to wait and see.

I have to admit that the "treasure hunt" for this info has been fun. When they just hand me a list of all the ZR-1's by color and VIN, it will be over. Oh well, more time to go drive the Z!

I have identified another Quasar Blue ZR-1. It is 1990 #2784, QB with Black interior. The car is for sale in England. It was imported to England in 1997, and was in Holland for two years before coming back to the UK.

Our current count is:

1990: 19 made, 7 identified with serial number & interior color
1991: 80 made, 38 identified
1992: 15 made, 6 identified
1993: 7 made, 5 identified
