Alright guys, I'm about to crack open the top end of another 91. Be starting on it late today or tomorrow. Current plan

Pull parts for engine refinish
Change all fluids
Check for worn items under plenum

What kind of tech write up would you like to see?

As a Newbie here Jeff, still doing my research (and drving a Ford - Factory Five Cobra - Shhhh!!) as comprehensive as you would like to get I would sure appreciate.

Can't seem to find a lot of tech or vendors here on this Forum but that may just be the nature of the low-volume ZR1 - though I have been reading your tech writings over and over.

Look forward to reading more.

Thanks

Scott

Scott, thanks for the response. That was one reason why I was asking. I've already done a bit of detail of doing all the parts removal. Wasn't sure if there was anything else people might want to see.

As far as tech, there is quite a bit, and I do vending as well.

Why don't you record the whole thing with a digital video camera, you could sell copies.

I've been talking with a buddy about doing some filming. I've got a few tech tips done up as test runs. The file size is huge though.

Jeff,

I have a brother in law who's a video editor. He might be willing to help you produce it.

How about removing the cam covers. They're what have me nervous. The main worry is snapping off torx heads. The rest of it seems like a PITA but, very doable. Much like the headers were. Just a thought.

I know I would be interested in buying a detailed video. Please try and video it. As a noob I want to learn as much as I can.:pray

I would like to see the removal, test and replacement of the thermosistor relay for the tertiary butterfly system. I think it's under the injector modulator valve that controls downshifts when the ECM is in square loop.

I can't find it anywhere in O'Reilly's service manual.

Just kidding of course Jeff.... you do a great job for the Registry.

It's right next to the flux capacitor.

Just remember to check the muffler bearing, replace it if it's worn:

And be sure to refill the blinker fluid:

JeffVette, can you add to this list?

Thanx.

Being new to the Zs, there isn't anything about them and the LT5 especially that I wouldn't want to see. However, I may be the only one in the world with a dial up connection (I live in the sticks, apparently), and video files are out of the question (for me). However, I have some experience (I do industrial training development stuff) and contacts that produce videos and make them available (for a small price) on DVD. If you wanna discuss this some more, or do one sometime down the road (too late for the current project, I recon) shoot me a PM.

Oh, and thank you very much for asking. Stills would be fine...And, your idea gives ME ideas. You ever been a "SME"?

I like the idea of a video. Could be a whole DVD series. Top end (plenum, coils, plugs, starter, etc) Cam covers, headers. Could sell thru registry store.

Video?? hmm. i guess pictures would be better for many cases!
Now, if you want replace your Ignition with MSD box ,with those wires, and connectors,...
how you want do it in video? not easy to show!! JMO

but for changing the Shocks to performance Coil-over, this may be good for filming,
as well camber, struts setup for street or drag racing!
P.S if there will be stripping girls in backround of video, i will buy that DVD!! :D
