Jeez Ryan, that is one sweet setup. Looks like hard work and depriving yourself of having your Vettes has paid off dearly. You have, how should I say it, A Garage to Die For.
You still gonna try and make it to the PNW Gathering this year? The Rose City Corvettes moved their show ahead a week so the Vette Fest here in Boise and the PNWG are now two weeks in between. August 1-4 should be the event dates this year. More to come though.

Hey Any chance you can take apicture of your garage from the outside I want to get a feel for your set up and how much room you have.
I have been thinking about a 4 post lift but I just dont know how I would set it up.
I would rather have a 2 post but well see.
my garage is like 28X30 single door 2 car I need a set up like yours

01-10-2008, 09:07 PM
ya no problem leave it with me. my addition is only 15.5' wide X 38' long with a true 10' ceiling. i have a 9' X 9' door, the lifts' posts are 8.5' wide so i can put the casters on & roll it out instead of breaking it down. is your ceiliing height enough? with my 90 on top of my 95 i have lots of room, not so much with my Stingray on top of my Ruby because of the door operator. i could get away from that too if i wanted by turning the Stingray around so the operator was over top of the hood instead of the roof, but i want the cars facing the same direction & i wouldn't really gain that much. as long as you have enough height to get what you want under, more doesn't really do anything for you anyhow, if you know what i mean.

i don't have that many good shots from the outside that give a good prespective & it's dark out & cold right now so instead i'll put up some shots as it was going up & maybe you'll get a better feel for it that way. this is from my backyard before the excavation started.this is around the middle of May. http://i228.photobucket.com/albums/ee142/flyinryan_ZR1/IMG_0163.jpg

I wonder if you know Morris and Molly Sugarman who own/owned one of the salvage operations in Edmonton?
He has a cottage at Ma-Me-O beach which is next to my cousins place!
I used to go up there every summer for vacation in my youth dayz -- It was my Aunt Moy's place-- she was a high school principal in Calgary and now her daughters Gretchin and Wendy (my cousins) are the owners.
Bet this is a big surprise eh? Hahah I am half Canuck!!! My parents are both grads from the U of S and met at the Jr college in Regina. My dad was the coach of the freshmen girls BB team!!! That is how they met. My dad is from Pennsylvania but had an Aunt in Regina so he went to school in Canada cuz it was less than the states.
Small world eh --- I have cousins all over Canada!!!
I am gonna see if I can find the cottage on google earth and pin it!!! I'll send you the coord's to it.

I doubt it is on "Street View" on google maps yet!!!
If none of y'all have checked out the street view on google maps try it --- it is unreal --- go visit your past and take a trip down memory lane!!!!
So you don't know the Sugarman family I guess? Well it is a large town!!!
One time I was talking on my ham radio set to a ham in Calgary (he was actually in his car on mobile radio) and just happened to ask him if he knew of Moyra Hegarty---
He said "hell ya she was my social studies teacher and later my principal at High School" ---he could hardly believe I was her Nephew!!!
WB9MCW are my ham call letters!!!
Small world ---they say we are all connected by no more than 7 persons --LOL

well it's snowing to beat all heck so it's a good day to stay in & shoot a few pics. the earlier pictures are when i first put the cars to bed in the new section. now i've got most of my ZR-1 & to a lesser extent Ruby paraphernalia hung up & put out. i had my garage opening last Saturday & about 30 or so people showed up to check it. kinda funny as at least half the people didn't know about all the ZR-1's. most knew about one, some knew about two, not many knew about all three. wasn't that hard because all the cars were never here all at once until now. this shot shows some book's, pizza box, legend lives poster & plaque, Ruby license plate & some brand new emblems in G.M. boxes.http://i228.photobucket.com/albums/ee142/flyinryan_ZR1/IMG_0715.jpg

i bought this magazine rack to hold magazines i've been collecting. when people want a history lesson just grab one & check it out. a lot of these i had myself from back in the day. it's hard to see but a bunch of slot's are doubled up. on the left is a 93 & on the right is a 95 factory brochure's.http://i228.photobucket.com/albums/ee142/flyinryan_ZR1/IMG_0717.jpg

looking to the left i have a 90 brochure along with all my window stickers, the one on the left is for my 90 so it's in Canadian currency & fuel milage is in metric as well as imperial being it's a CDN car. above are some ZR-1 mugs & ZR-1 .net registry Las Vegas west gathering Oct. 2006 glasses. i didn't go but Ron H. had some extras & was kind enough to sell me four. on the ledge are cassettes that came in the 90's & a Ruby picture that has been circulating lately.http://i228.photobucket.com/albums/ee142/flyinryan_ZR1/IMG_0718.jpg

i think i can safely say these floor mats are HARD to get. molded rubber ZR-1/40th anniversary, brand new, i have the box too. must have been a lot of work making a mold for these until thay realized the most they could ever hope to sell was 240ish. not like a carpet mat you can stitch something on to easily. in behind are all my shop manuals, wheel lock wrenches for each car, build sheets, owners manuals & a bunch of other stuff.http://i228.photobucket.com/albums/ee142/flyinryan_ZR1/IMG_0720.jpg

this last one one is not at all ZR-1 related but it's cool nontheless. it's going to be an NHRA legal Competition Eliminator engine i'm doing for a guy. it's a G.M. Aurora block only 8.30" deck height, 55mm cam core, key way lifters, splayed valve heads. it'll be good for 9700-10,000 RPMish. i won't be standing too close to it in the dyno cell i can tell you that:redface: .http://i228.photobucket.com/albums/ee142/flyinryan_ZR1/IMG_0712.jpg

i couldn't decide if i should post this under this thread or my virgin territory thread? i flipped a coin LOL. most of you know i've recently aquired an LT-5 but i also managed to secure a crate ZF S6-40 transmission, 95 crash thru style. both actually came from the same person in seperate deals, a really great guy & Zee enthusiast who is shifting focus in life, still has a Zee for sale & drives a Z06. in my ½ year old garage addition i have dead hole, had to go around my brick fireplace/chimney, that is not really very good to do much with:cool: so i figured it was about the right size for these. built a stand & had it powder coated. it's kinda sneaky if you don't know it's there at first. wasn't easy getting between the door & lift, had to take the garage door track down, minor. BTW, am finishing my landscaping on the right side of the garage starting tommorow. http://i228.photobucket.com/albums/ee142/flyinryan_ZR1/IMG_0794.jpg

Ryan,
You're right, I hardly ever look at anything else by general, tech and for sale. I'll have to check out your albums. Merry Christmas!
