After that whole Maverick65 douchebaggery over on the Corvette Forum, I figured that I might give the ZR-1 Net Registry a try...

Besides, all I really cared about was my Z in the first place. So, I thought I might say hello!

:hello: :handshak: welcome to our home!

JMHO, we all should make this our "go to" place.....it was created for us alone. Not bashing any other forums....it's just seems to me that this one was created just for us, and I think it should be made into our primary resource & gathering place. We can build this into a valuable resource and an entertainning place for our members...we just gotta use it.

Sorry for the rant.

CF is going down hill losing good members and moderators.
The NE section has been taken over by the New Yorkers.
It sure isn't what is was when I joined in 2000.

Hey, I resemble that remark!:sign10:

Nice to see another familiar face with a ZR-1 over here...:hello: :handshak:

 Rex & welcome to the pool!

In truth, we are a pushy bunch! But I'd be drivin' around by myself if I hadn't found the "pack"....more fun when like minded people go out for a drive together.

Well, I was never a member of the CF. Therefore, I am not familiar with all your beefs! However, I have been a member of this forum for several years now, and I find everything I need regarding my Z right here. In addition, most really important news regarding Corvette in general can be found here also.

This is the greatest site!! With the greatest people!!

Welcome home!

Thanks for coming over.

So what happened with the maverick65 thing? It was all cleaned up when I got there.

As to using this forum, I'll try to start new threads here vs there. However, for me the performance on posting here is terrible! It takes a long time for my post to finish, enough time that I usually open a new browser tab and check out other forums in the meantime. Does anyone else have this problem?

Yep, I just deal with it. Z factor, anything you can do about this problem? As more and more people post here, will it become slower?

Bob,
It's a real puzzle why you are still having this problem here.
I access this this site all the time through my AOL browser and don't expirience any of the delay problems you have been mentioning for a while now. Maybe its a Loudoun County thing?

It's a problem that is not limited to Loudoun County. It's slow over here on the left coast too.

What did I miss with the Maverick65 incident? it has been thoroughly cleaned up over there...

Hey Mr Moderator, when I post am I supposed to see some type of tool bar to make writing easier? Stuff like copy, paste, attach, etc. icons. All I get is a box that's called Post Icons.

Just to be clear, I have no problem browsing the forum. Everything is fast. But when I post a reply, that's when it takes forever. Sometimes ~10 seconds, sometimes much much longer. :icon_scra

I'm quite sure it isn't my internet, I have fiber to the house >5mbs.

Okay.....I thought it was my antique 'puter & my old tech phone line DSL. I'm still gonna say that my equipment and or my lack of software knowledge must be contributing factors....in my case....but yea, I'm in the 10 sec class too.....proly be the only 10 sec class I'll ever be in!

Hey Scott, it's doing fine. Since changing to Redline oils the oil pan has started leaking slightly. I'm getting ready to pull it and replace the gasket. I'll probably go back to Mobil 1 in the "high mileage" formula though, now that they have a non-"SM" rated oil in the right viscosity.

Also some old lady rear-ended me... I just got the car back from Stingray's in Purcellville. The damage was quite minor, we were both driving forwards at the time (thankfully I wasn't braking or anything). She just cracked the paint and damaged one of the pop-rivet holes on the bottom of the bumper. They did a good job fixing it, though the paint is glossier than the 18 year old paint on the rest of the car. That's life I guess...

When do you get your monster back from Haibeck? Can't wait to see how disappointed it makes me with the performance of my car...

Sorry to hear of your latest mishap. Sounds like we can all be greatful you didn't get hurt. Man, you've had a tough stretch of luck there with the flat tire and now getting hit. Let's just figure you got all that stuff behind you in 2007. Best wishes (and Luck) to you and your family in 2008!

I'm very much looking forward to getting my car back. It will be far from a monster though. A monster would be the 440 that Marc just built. When it's finished, the parts will still be OE original and should be a blast to drive. Hopefully by not building a stroker I'll have left enough in the bank to buy a used ZO6 when the prices come down and the novelty wears off.

I'm looking forward to the spring, better weather, and a chance to get together. Take care.
Scott
